## What it does

The skill runs the upgrade as a sequence. It reads `package.json` to see which Rspack packages are in play, then locates the config file — commonly `rspack.config.(ts|js|mjs|cjs)`. Your current setup gets compared against the official migration guide, and the skill lists which breaking changes actually apply: removed or renamed options, changed defaults, plugin API shifts.

Dependencies come next: `@rspack/core`, `@rspack/cli`, `@rspack/dev-server`, `@rspack/plugin-react-refresh`. Config and related code are edited to match the guide, deprecated options dropped. Then it validates — build, dev server, tests or type checks — and works through whatever warnings the new version surfaces.

The official migration guide is the single source of truth here, not the agent's guesses. Worth knowing: it covers Rspack core. If your config wires up custom plugins, check their docs separately, or some changes will slip past.

# Rspack 1.x to v2 upgrade

## Workflow

1. **Confirm current setup**
   - Read `package.json` to identify Rspack packages in use.

5. **Apply migration changes**
   - Update the Rspack config and related code according to the official guide.
   - Remove deprecated or unsupported options.

6. **Validate**
   - Run build and dev commands.
   - Run project tests or type checks.
   - Fix any warnings or errors surfaced by the new version.
