## What it does

This skill provides targeted guidance for the WeAct Studio RP2350A Core Board running a dual Cortex-M33 at 150 MHz with 520 KB SRAM and 4 MB or 16 MB QSPI flash. The hardware exists in two conflicting revisions under the same commercial label: V2.0 matches the standard Raspberry Pi Pico 2 layout, whereas V1.0 exposes all GPIO lines by rearranging the power rail, ADC reference and control lines.

Inside, developers get `platformio.ini` environment templates, peripheral mappings, symptom-cause-fix debugging charts, and boilerplate code. It highlights hardware specifics: `analogRead` returns 10-bit values unless explicitly set to 12-bit, default `Serial` runs over USB CDC, and the silicon erratum RP2350-E9 breaks `INPUT_PULLDOWN` operation.

Setting `board = weact_rp2350b` in PlatformIO targets the QFN-80 package with 48 GPIOs instead; projects for this board must specify `board = rpipico2` alongside `board_build.core = earlephilhower`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill rp2350a-weact -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/rp2350a-weact/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/rp2350a-weact/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill rp2350a-weact -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/rp2350a-weact/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill rp2350a-weact -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/rp2350a-weact/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install alexex1993/mcu-skills rp2350a-weact
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/rp2350a-weact/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill rp2350a-weact -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/alexex1993/mcu-skills --path skills/rp2/rp2350a-weact
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/rp2350a-weact/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alexex1993/mcu-skills --skill rp2350a-weact -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- identify whether a board is revision V1.0 or V2.0 using visible components
- configure `platformio.ini` environments for earlephilhower arduino-pico core
- handle the RP2350-E9 pull-down silicon erratum on digital pins
- read 12-bit ADC values and compute VSYS battery levels on V2.0 hardware
- assign I2C and SPI peripheral buses without overlapping primary pins

## Example prompts
- Set up a platformio.ini configuration for a WeAct RP2350A V2.0 with 16MB flash.
- How do I determine if my WeAct RP2350 board is hardware revision V1.0 or V2.0?
- Why is analogRead returning values up to 1023 on my RP2350A board?

# WeAct Studio RP2350A Core Board (RP2350A)

A Pico-2-shaped RP2350A core board that ships in **two incompatible
revisions under one name**. V2.0 is a pin-for-pin Pico 2 replacement; V1.0
brings out every GPIO instead, and pays for it by moving the power pin, the
ADC reference and three GPIO functions. Firmware built for the wrong one
compiles cleanly and then drives the wrong pins — so establish the revision
before writing any code, and read the reference files rather than assuming
Pico 2 behaviour.

- `reference/board-hardware.md` — the complete board reference: how to tell
  the revisions apart, the 40-pin map for both, the off-header GPIO, power
  trees, clocks, memory map, vendor-material inventory **plus** a development
  guide (Part II: §8 toolchain, §10 peripheral cookbook, §11 RP2350 gotchas
  including erratum E9 and the PWM slice map, §12 flashing, §13 a
  symptom → cause → fix table).
- `reference/recipes.md` — copy-paste code: `platformio.ini` with all four
  envs, the revision guard, reading the real flash size out of the chip,
  LEDs, the KEY button, V2.0 power sensing, ADC, `Wire1` remapping, PWM,
  EEPROM, LittleFS, core 1.
- `template/` — a **project that builds clean** for both revisions and both
  flash sizes, in two variants, plus a scaffold script. See
  `template/README.md`.
