## What it does

The skill sends commands to the `runcomfy` CLI to adjust lighting setups on still images. It routes primary requests to `qwen/qwen-edit-2509/lora/relight`. This endpoint modifies light angles, mood, and color temperature while preserving subject identity.

Alternative endpoints handle specialized tasks. For edits combined with background swaps or batch processing, the skill uses `google/nano-banana-2/edit`. Matching light from a reference photo routes to `openai/gpt-image-2/edit`, while surgical single-instruction edits rely on `blackforestlabs/flux-1-kontext/pro/edit`.

Commands fail without the `@runcomfy/cli` package and authentication through `runcomfy login` or `RUNCOMFY_TOKEN`. The skill does not generate images from scratch and does not support video relighting.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill relight -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/relight/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/relight/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill relight -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/relight/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill relight -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/relight/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills relight
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/relight/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill relight -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --path relight
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/relight/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill relight -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills/tree/HEAD/relight/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- change light direction and color temperature on portraits
- turn studio product shots into natural window light
- match lighting from a reference photo
- batch relight multiple SKU catalog images

## Example prompts
- Change the lighting on `product.jpg`: warm 3200K window light from the left, soft shadows.
- Make it golden hour on `portrait.jpg`, keeping the subject pose and facial identity.
- Apply the lighting setup from `ref.jpg` to `model.jpg`.

# Relight

Change how a still is lit — direction, color temperature, intensity, mood — without redoing the shot. This skill routes to Qwen Edit 2509's dedicated relight LoRA when a purpose-built relighting endpoint matters, and to identity-preserving edit endpoints when prose lighting language is enough.

## Pick the right model

Listed newest first.

**Qwen Edit 2509 Relight LoRA** — `qwen/qwen-edit-2509/lora/relight` *(default for dedicated relighting)*
> Purpose-built relighting LoRA on Qwen Edit 2509. Tuned specifically for changing lighting direction, color temperature, intensity, and mood while preserving subject identity, pose, and framing.
> Pick for: precise lighting control ("golden hour key light from left, soft fill from right, no rim"), brand product relighting, portrait mood shifts.
> Avoid for: edits that aren't really about lighting — use generic image edit.

**Nano Banana 2 Edit** — `google/nano-banana-2/edit`
> Identity-preserving edit driven by spatial / prose language. Lighting changes via prompt: `"convert to golden hour with warm key light from the left"`.
> Pick for: lighting change as part of a broader edit pass (also swapping background, adding objects).
