## What it does

This skill equips Claude Code with structured offensive security steps based on bug bounty practices. It covers passive and active subdomain collection using `amass` and `subfinder`, host checking via `httprobe` or `httpx`, and technology fingerprinting through `whatweb` and `nuclei`.

The guide includes terminal command chains for content fuzzing with `ffuf`, historical URL scraping via `waybackurls` and `gau`, XSS automation with `paramspider` and `dalfox`, plus API route discovery.

Commands expect a Linux environment like Kali or Ubuntu alongside working Go, Python, and Ruby setups. Third-party data lookups fail without active API keys for Shodan or Censys.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **claude-code-templates**
```bash
npx claude-code-templates@latest --skill security/red-team-tools
```

2. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add davila7/claude-code-templates --skill red-team-tools -a claude-code
```

3. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/red-team-tools/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/red-team-tools/

### Codex

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/red-team-tools/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/red-team-tools/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install davila7/claude-code-templates red-team-tools
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/red-team-tools/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates --path cli-tool/components/skills/security/red-team-tools
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/red-team-tools/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/davila7/claude-code-templates/tree/HEAD/cli-tool/components/skills/security/red-team-tools

## When to use it
- enumerate target subdomains and filter responsive hosts
- extract historical URLs and query parameters for fuzzing
- run automated XSS checks on discovered parameters
- scan hosts for known CVEs using Nuclei templates
- discover hidden API routes and HTTP methods

## Example prompts
- Enumerate subdomains for target.com using amass and subfinder
- Test extracted URL parameters for XSS vulnerabilities with dalfox
- Build an ffuf command to discover hidden API endpoints
