## What it does

The skill reconciles what you have installed against the current paperthin catalog. Renamed skills get marked stale, missing ones get added, the rest get refreshed. All of it happens inside one install scope: global, project, or a named agent. You pick one scope for the whole run, and the skill asks if you didn't say which.

Before anything changes, it prints the reconciliation plan: retire, add, refresh, untouched. Nothing mutates until you confirm. It also checks for a shadow install. If paperthin is loaded but the chosen scope lists zero paperthin skills, the skill doesn't assume the catalog is gone — it looks for a catalog directory in that scope's managed footprint. A clone loaded as a Claude plugin is invisible to the CLI, so the skill offers a managed reinstall via `npx skills add` or leaves the clone alone, and waits for your call.

After confirmation it runs only the commands the plan named: `npx skills remove` for the stale group, `npx skills add` with a `-s` flag per missing name, `npx skills update` for the present ones. A skill that fails gets retried on its own, and after a second failure it's removed and reinstalled. Verification goes through `npx skills list`. Finally the skill explains how to pick up the update: Claude applies the new `SKILL.md` in the current session, other sessions need `/reload-skills`, and Codex wants a restart.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LilMGenius/paperthin --skill re0-upgrade -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/re0-upgrade/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/re0-upgrade/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LilMGenius/paperthin --skill re0-upgrade -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/re0-upgrade/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LilMGenius/paperthin --skill re0-upgrade -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/re0-upgrade/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install LilMGenius/paperthin re0-upgrade
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/re0-upgrade/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LilMGenius/paperthin --skill re0-upgrade -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/LilMGenius/paperthin --path skills/breadth/re0-upgrade
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/re0-upgrade/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add LilMGenius/paperthin --skill re0-upgrade -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/LilMGenius/paperthin/tree/HEAD/skills/breadth/re0-upgrade/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- retire renamed paperthin skills and pull in their current replacements
- add catalog skills that aren't installed yet
- refresh installed skills to the current release
- review the full change plan before anything is touched
- diagnose a paperthin install the CLI can't see

## Example prompts
- upgrade my paperthin skills to the full current catalog
- show me the reconciliation plan first, global scope
- check for a shadow paperthin install and tell me what to do

Converge an install on the full current paperthin catalog in one step: retire renamed skills, add every skill not yet installed, refresh the rest, behind one confirmation.

## Goal

Upgrade the chosen scope to the **full current catalog**, not just the originally installed subset. Show the reconciliation plan and name every new-to-user skill before confirmation; users who prefer a narrower install can decline.

## Deprecations

The rename SSOT, in release order. Append future renames here; resolve chains to their final current names. The `ssot-check` row is user-confirmed pre-v0.2.0 history, unverifiable in git after a force-push; do not invent its date or tag.

| Deprecated | Renamed to | Since |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `ssot-check` | `ssotchk` | pre-v0.2.0 history (force-pushed; user-confirmed) |
| `tasting` | `sip` | 0.6.0 |
| `redteam` | `hate` | 0.7.0 |
| `scratch` | `re0-work` | 0.8.2 |
| `retro` | `re0-memo` | 0.11.0 |
| `flywheel` | `re0-loop` | 0.11.0 |
| `ssotchk` | `ssotize` | 0.11.0 |
| `ppt-upgrade` | `re0-upgrade` | 0.11.0 |
| `ppt-release` | `re0-release` | 0.11.0 |

## Current catalog

Install every skill below in the chosen scope, except those declined at confirmation. Use this roster to distinguish current from unknown names in `npx skills list` and installed directories.

`re0`, `readchk`, `aim`, `modelchk`, `hate`, `macrothink`, `feynman`, `autobahn`, `reorder`, `detool`, `dedash`, `debloat`, `shower`, `factchk`, `mandela`, `sip`, `re0-git`, `re0-release`, `re0-merge`, `ssotize`, `re0-upgrade`, `re0-plan`, `re0-loop`, `re0-memo`, `re0-work`, `catchup`, `nba`, `prism`

## Workflow

1. Choose one install scope for the whole run; ask if unspecified. A wrong scope reads the wrong install location.
   - **Global**: `npx skills list --global`, inspect `~/.agents/skills/<skill>/SKILL.md`, and pass `--global` to every `remove`, `add`, and `update`.
   - **Project**: `npx skills list` from that project, inspect its installed skill directory if present, and omit `--global`.
