# qwencloud-video-generation

A skill that generates and edits video with Wan models: text-to-video, image animation, frame transitions. Useful when the agent has to hand back a finished clip.

## What it does

The skill covers five video modes. Text-to-video (`t2v`) builds a clip from a description alone. Image-to-video (`i2v`) takes `img_url` or `reference_image`. Transitions between two stills run through `kf2v`, editing and extending footage through `vace`, and transferring a person's motion and expressions onto a character through `animate`.

At the core sits `scripts/video.py`: it detects the mode, submits the job, polls until done and downloads the result. Every task is asynchronous — submit first, then poll. If the script does not fit, `references/execution-guide.md` documents a curl fallback, and `references/workflows.md` covers duration extensions and multi-shot. You need Python 3.9 and a `QWENCLOUD_API_KEY`; the script reads it from the environment, then falls back to `QWEN_API_KEY` and `DASHSCOPE_API_KEY`.

Two spots trip people up. In `kf2v` the duration is fixed at 5 seconds and the output is silent only — any other value fails. Resolution parameters vary by model family rather than by mode, so read the model catalog before picking `size` or `resolution`. Coding Plan keys will not work: video models are not available there, and standard keys bill per second. Token Plan keys do work, but only through the Python script, never curl.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add QwenCloud/qwencloud-ai --skill qwencloud-video-generation -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/qwencloud-video-generation/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/qwencloud-video-generation/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add QwenCloud/qwencloud-ai --skill qwencloud-video-generation -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/qwencloud-video-generation/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add QwenCloud/qwencloud-ai --skill qwencloud-video-generation -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/qwencloud-video-generation/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install QwenCloud/qwencloud-ai qwencloud-video-generation
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/qwencloud-video-generation/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add QwenCloud/qwencloud-ai --skill qwencloud-video-generation -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/QwenCloud/qwencloud-ai --path skills/video/qwencloud-video-generation
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/qwencloud-video-generation/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add QwenCloud/qwencloud-ai --skill qwencloud-video-generation -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/QwenCloud/qwencloud-ai/tree/HEAD/skills/video/qwencloud-video-generation/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- generate a clip from a written description
- animate a still image into a short video
- build a transition between a first and last frame
- transfer a person's motion from a reference clip onto a character
- extend or locally repaint existing footage

## Example prompts
- generate a video from this description: a cat walking on a rooftop at sunset
- animate this image and add a slow camera move
- use qwencloud-video-generation in kf2v mode between these two frames

# Qwen Video Generation

Generate videos using Wan models. All tasks are **asynchronous** — submit, then poll until
completion.
This skill is part of **qwencloud/qwencloud-ai**.

> **⚠️ Critical Parameter Differences:**
> - **kf2v (First+Last Frame)**: Duration is **fixed at 5 seconds** — other values will fail. Output is **silent only**.
> - **Resolution parameters vary by model family, not mode alone**: Fetch the current model catalog before choosing `size`, `resolution`, or `ratio`.

## Skill directory

Use this skill's internal files to execute and learn. Load reference files on demand when the default path fails or you need details.
