## What it does

qp coordinates three stages: `qp-plan` builds an inventory of screens and test cases, `qp-run` executes checks, and `qp-regress` compares results with an earlier run. Outputs go into `qp/plan/`, `qp/run/`, and `qp/regress/`, with engine and adapter details recorded in artifact headers.

Before testing, the skill classifies the target and checks which MCP tools are available. Web testing needs Playwright MCP; desktop testing uses computer-use MCP. If a target requires a profile, qp stops until one is supplied. It also stops when the required adapter is unavailable. Desktop checks rely on screenshots rather than DOM data, so verification is limited to text legible in an image.

You can request the whole sequence or a single stage. The skill needs `bash` and an MCP adapter in the session. Mobile testing and fixing the application are outside its scope.

## Requirements
- Works with: Playwright

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add chrono-meta/forge-harness --skill qp -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/qp/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/qp/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add chrono-meta/forge-harness --skill qp -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/qp/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add chrono-meta/forge-harness --skill qp -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/qp/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install chrono-meta/forge-harness qp
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/qp/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add chrono-meta/forge-harness --skill qp -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/chrono-meta/forge-harness --path plugins/fh-qp/skills/qp
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/qp/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add chrono-meta/forge-harness --skill qp -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/chrono-meta/forge-harness/tree/HEAD/plugins/fh-qp/skills/qp/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a screen inventory and test cases for an app
- run web or desktop checks through an available MCP adapter
- compare a run with the previous regression results
- halt when a target needs a profile or its adapter is missing

## Example prompts
- Run a QA cycle on this website: plan tests, execute them, and compare with the previous run.
- Test this desktop app using the planning and execution stages.
- Run regression checks only for this app.

# qp — Quality Platform router

One entry point for people who want to **dynamically test a web or desktop app with a QA lens from inside Claude Code**.
Three stages, each its own skill, each leaving files:

| stage | skill | you get |
|---|---|---|
| **P**lan | `qp-plan` | `qp/plan/inventory.md` (surfaces the app exposes) + `qp/plan/tcs.tsv` (test cases) |
| **A**utomation (run) | `qp-run` | `qp/run/<ts>/verdicts.tsv` + masked evidence (DOM snapshots or screenshots) |
| **R**egression | `qp-regress` | `qp/regress/<ts>/surface_reach.txt` + per-TC delta vs the previous run |

Glossary (one line each, because a first-time reader asked): **TC** = test case · **inventory** = the list of screens/routes/menus the app exposes · **MTM** = each finding is labeled *as planned* / *differs from the plan document* / *code differs* · **precondition** = what must already be true before a step runs (logged in, page loaded), checked not assumed — a failure before it is met is `BLOCKED`, not `FAIL` · **surface_reach** = how many TCs actually left the entry screen · **engine** = which machinery drove the run (see §Engine).

## Step 0 — classify the target (mechanical, never by eye)

```
bash plugins/fh-qp/scripts/qp_tools.sh target-class <https://… | app:NAME> [--profile <file>]
```
| result | rc | what you do |
|---|---|---|
| `PUBLIC` | 0 | proceed |
| `PROFILE_OK` | 0 | proceed with the profile |
| `PROFILE_REQUIRED` | 4 | **stop.** Say: *"this target is not public; QP needs a profile file — copy `plugins/fh-qp/qp_profile.example.yaml` to a gitignored path, fill the host/app, and re-run with `--profile`."* Do not improvise a run against a private host. |
| `UNKNOWN` | 10 | stop, report the target form QP accepts |

## Step 1 — probe the adapter (mechanical; unknown ≠ present)

List the MCP tool names this session actually has (from your tool list — do not guess), then:
```
bash plugins/fh-qp/scripts/qp_tools.sh adapter-probe --need web|desktop --tools "<comma-separated tool names>"
```
`ADAPTER=… evidence=dom|pixel` → proceed and **write that line into every artifact header**.
