## What it does

This skill handles test visualization, not metric selection. Trend and flakiness panels, stakeholder-facing reports, release-readiness gates, alerting and CI-driven report generation all sit here. Every panel maps to a question someone actually asks, and a red indicator drills down to the failing test.

Several routes are available. Allure produces HTML reports with history and categories, Grafana with InfluxDB covers trend and regression panels, ReportPortal aggregates across frameworks on your own server. There is a local report too: `node <qa-skills>/scripts/qa.mjs run --project <project> --goal "<current QA task>"` writes `report.html` and `result.json`. For new projects the skill recommends Allure 3 via the npm package and `allurerc.mjs`; the `brew install allure` plus `allure generate` route is Allure 2 — stable, but frozen.

The boundaries matter. Deciding which KPIs to measure and how to read them belongs to qa-metrics: this skill builds the panels, qa-metrics decides what they show. A zero exit code without an observed test is not a passing suite, and missing evidence should not be replaced by an agent's narrative.

## Requirements
- Works with: Grafana

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add petrkindlmann/qa-skills --skill qa-dashboard -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/qa-dashboard/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/qa-dashboard/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add petrkindlmann/qa-skills --skill qa-dashboard -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/qa-dashboard/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add petrkindlmann/qa-skills --skill qa-dashboard -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/qa-dashboard/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install petrkindlmann/qa-skills qa-dashboard
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/qa-dashboard/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add petrkindlmann/qa-skills --skill qa-dashboard -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/petrkindlmann/qa-skills --path skills/qa-dashboard
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/qa-dashboard/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add petrkindlmann/qa-skills --skill qa-dashboard -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/petrkindlmann/qa-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/qa-dashboard/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn a Playwright or pytest run into an HTML report
- give leadership one answer on release readiness
- track flaky tests and regressions on Grafana panels
- merge results from several runners into a single view
- generate reports automatically from CI

## Example prompts
- Build a test dashboard with trend and flakiness panels in Grafana
- Generate an Allure report for the last Playwright run with failure categories
- Wire report generation into CI and publish the run directory as an artifact with `if: always()`

<objective>
Build dashboards that drive decisions, not dashboards that display data. The failure
mode this prevents: a wall of panels showing "5 failures" with no link to the failures,
no target, and no trend — a notification dressed up as a tool that everyone stops opening
by week three. This skill delivers audience-specific QA reporting — rich HTML reports
(Allure), real-time trend panels with regression alerts (Grafana/InfluxDB), self-hosted
AI-assisted aggregation (ReportPortal), and automated stakeholder summaries — each panel
mapped to a question someone actually asks and every red indicator drilling down to the
failing test.
</objective>

## Quick Route

| Situation | Go to |
|-----------|-------|
| Already on Grafana for infra metrics | **Grafana Dashboards** — add test metrics alongside prod |
| Test runner has a hosted dashboard (Cypress/Playwright) | **SaaS-Native Dashboards** — least plumbing |
| Need a local evidence report from the bundled QA runner | **Local QA Report** |
| Need rich HTML from an existing Allure adapter | **Allure Report** |
| Need self-hosted aggregation across frameworks + AI triage | **ReportPortal** |
| Need a single view across multiple runners | **Grafana** or **Allure** (cross-runner aggregation) |
| Need a weekly summary / release verdict for stakeholders | **Stakeholder Reports** |

## Discovery Questions

Check `.agents/qa-project-context.md` first — if it exists, use it and skip anything answered there. Then:

1. **What tool do you use for test reporting today?** Console output, JUnit XML, HTML reports, or a dedicated platform? Identifies the starting point and how much plumbing is left.
