## What it does

The skill directs AI assistants on frontend layout, accessibility, and speed. It groups guidance into 8 prioritized tiers, putting WCAG compliance and Core Web Vitals ahead of visual styling and motion.

Inside are 42 distinct rules. Each is identified by category prefixes such as `access-`, `cwv-`, and `resp-`. For every rule, the agent pulls detailed guidance from `references/<rule-id>.md` showing incorrect versus correct code.

The system relies heavily on the accompanying `references/` directory. Without those files present in the project, the model only gets the top-level checklist. That is a clear reason to keep the full repository structure intact.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add PyModel/react-frontend-skills --skill ui-design -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ui-design/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ui-design/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add PyModel/react-frontend-skills --skill ui-design -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ui-design/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add PyModel/react-frontend-skills --skill ui-design -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ui-design/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install PyModel/react-frontend-skills ui-design
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ui-design/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add PyModel/react-frontend-skills --skill ui-design -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/PyModel/react-frontend-skills --path skills/ui-design
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ui-design/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add PyModel/react-frontend-skills --skill ui-design -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- audit HTML markup against WCAG accessibility requirements
- meet Core Web Vitals targets for LCP, CLS, and INP
- implement fluid typography using CSS clamp()
- configure form validation UX with inline errors after field blur

## Example prompts
- Build an accessible modal dialog following the access- and layout- guidelines
- Review this checkout form against form-inline-validation and form-input-types rules
- Optimize our hero section markup to meet cwv-optimize-lcp and cwv-minimize-cls
