## What it does

The skill inspects LaTeX proofs, identifies missing steps, and sends each claim to an external reviewer model. By default, it routes calls to Codex running `gpt-6-astra` at the `ultra` reasoning tier. Because Claude acts as the primary executor, routing proof reviews to an independent non-Claude model prevents the assistant from grading its own output.

Verification runs up to three rounds. When the reviewer flags missing edge cases or unjustified operations, the agent writes full mathematical derivations to close the gaps and requests follow-up checks via `mcp__codex__codex-reply`. The workflow writes results into `PROOF_AUDIT.md`, `proof_audit_report.tex`, and `PROOF_SKELETON.md`.

Never wrap this skill in `/loop`, `/schedule`, or `CronCreate`. Scheduled execution restarts the process from scratch and wipes the thread memory needed for multi-round convergence.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill proof-checker -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/proof-checker/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/proof-checker/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill proof-checker -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/proof-checker/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill proof-checker -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/proof-checker/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep proof-checker
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/proof-checker/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill proof-checker -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --path skills/proof-checker
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/proof-checker/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill proof-checker -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep/tree/HEAD/skills/proof-checker/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- catch logical gaps, unproven subclaims, and quantifier errors in LaTeX proofs
- derive missing steps and boundary cases across iterative review rounds
- generate a structured audit log in `PROOF_AUDIT.md` and `proof_audit_report.tex`
- run cross-model verification through external reasoning models

## Example prompts
- Verify the proof in `proofs/bounds.tex` with `--restatement-check`
- Audit the mathematical arguments in `paper/main.tex` and apply `--deep-fix`
- Check the convergence proof in `theory.tex` using the Codex reviewer backend

# Proof Checker: Rigorous Mathematical Verification & Fixing

> **Before each reviewer slot**, follow [Selectable Reviewers](../shared-references/reviewer-backends.md):
> resolve invocation → `.aris/reviewer.json` → Claude Code default (Codex MCP)
> with `reviewer_route.py` through the canonical helper resolver, preserving this
> slot's tier, fresh contexts, source/image inputs and deterministic gates.
> Codex examples/pins below apply only to `backend=codex`; other routes use their
> own first-call/reply contract. Save the route and actual returned identity;
> unavailable selections are `REVIEW_UNAVAILABLE`. Classify acceptance from actual
> families/completion/scope. Forward invocation reviewer/model/effort overrides
> to reviewer-bearing children. Generation workers are unchanged.

> 🔒 **Do not wrap this skill in `/loop`, `/schedule`, or `CronCreate`.** It is
> verdict-bearing — it judges proof validity across rounds, threading the
> reviewer's memory from Phase 1 → Phase 3 via `codex-reply` so the reviewer can
> check whether a fix actually closed the gap it flagged. An external timer
> re-enters from the top each tick, starting a fresh thread and losing that
> memory. Schedule the *external wait that precedes it*, not the verdict. See
> [`shared-references/external-cadence.md`](../shared-references/external-cadence.md).

Systematically verify a mathematical proof via cross-model adversarial review, fix identified gaps, re-review until convergence, and generate a detailed audit report with proof-obligation accounting.
