## What it does

This skill directs coding assistants to generate motion suited for enterprise applications, financial dashboards, and legal tools. It removes decorative bounce effects. Objects maintain rigid geometry instead. Every animated transition aims to stay functional and predictable.

The prompt file provides exact durations, CSS bezier curves, and keyframe snippets. Standard modal transitions use 200-250 ms with an ease-out curve, while data updates stay within 150-200 ms. Vertical slide motions stick to subtle 8px shifts.

Secondary motion is restricted strictly to functional indicators such as loading spinners. Because accessibility remains mandatory in corporate environments, respecting prefers-reduced-motion is a hard rule.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dylantarre/animation-principles --skill professionalism-credibility -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/professionalism-credibility/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/professionalism-credibility/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dylantarre/animation-principles --skill professionalism-credibility -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/professionalism-credibility/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dylantarre/animation-principles --skill professionalism-credibility -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/professionalism-credibility/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install dylantarre/animation-principles professionalism-credibility
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/professionalism-credibility/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dylantarre/animation-principles --skill professionalism-credibility -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/dylantarre/animation-principles --path skills/06-by-emotional-outcome/professionalism-credibility
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/professionalism-credibility/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add dylantarre/animation-principles --skill professionalism-credibility -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- configure subtle modal entry transitions
- set precise timing curves for enterprise data tables
- remove decorative bounce effects from B2B web interfaces
- implement 8px slide-up CSS animations for business dashboards

## Example prompts
- Apply professionalism-credibility motion rules to our modal dialog transition.
- Generate CSS keyframes for dashboard card entrance using pro-slide-up and 200ms ease-out.
- Update data table transition durations according to the credibility timing table.

# Professionalism & Credibility Animation

Create animations that convey competence, seriousness, and business-appropriate polish.

## Emotional Goal

Professionalism means motion that respects users' time and context. Credibility comes from animations that demonstrate technical competence without showing off.

## Disney Principles for Professionalism

### Squash & Stretch
None to minimal (0-5%). Professional interfaces use rigid, precise motion. Objects maintain exact proportions.

### Anticipation
Brief and functional (50-100ms). Just enough to prevent surprise. No theatrical preparation—get to the point.

### Staging
Clear hierarchy and purpose. Business-appropriate layouts. Every element in its proper place with clear function.

### Straight Ahead Action
Avoid entirely. Professional motion is controlled and predictable. No spontaneity or variation.

### Follow Through & Overlapping Action
Minimal, controlled settling. Quick stabilization. No bouncing or playfulness—immediate completion.

### Slow In & Slow Out
Smooth, professional curves. Standard easing that feels polished but not decorative. `ease-out` for efficiency.

### Arc
Minimal curves, direct paths preferred. Professional motion is efficient. Straight lines communicate directness.

### Secondary Action
Functional only. Loading states, progress indicators. No decorative animation—everything serves a purpose.

### Timing
Efficient and consistent (150-250ms). Quick enough to feel responsive, slow enough to track. No wasted time.

### Exaggeration
None. Realistic, proportional movements. Professional means grounded and believable.

### Solid Drawing
Precise, consistent geometry. Perfect alignment. Technical accuracy in every detail.

### Appeal
Clean, systematic design. Grid-based layouts. Neutral colors. Function-first aesthetics.

## Timing Recommendations

| Element | Duration | Easing |
|---------|----------|--------|
| Transitions | 150-250ms | `ease-out` |
| Feedback | 100-150ms | `ease-out` |
| Modals | 200-250ms | `ease-out` |
| Data updates | 150-200ms | `ease-in-out` |

## CSS Easing

```css
--pro-standard: cubic-bezier(0.4, 0, 0.2, 1);
--pro-enter: cubic-bezier(0.0, 0, 0.2, 1);
--pro-exit: cubic-bezier(0.4, 0, 1, 1);
```

## Professional Patterns

```css
@keyframes pro-fade-in {
  from { opacity: 0; }
  to { opacity: 1; }
}
@keyframes pro-slide-up {
  from {
    opacity: 0;
    transform: translateY(8px);
  }
  to {
    opacity: 1;
