## What it does

The skill guides professional writing in software development. It helps structure requests, project updates, and incident messages so readers can identify the main point, understand the context, and see what should happen next. It also addresses how much implementation detail to include for engineering peers, managers, and audiences outside engineering.

Email guidance covers subject lines, message structure, and specific requests. Team communication advice discusses threaded replies, selective mentions, and messages that do not demand an immediate response. The skill also covers meeting preparation and explaining technical concepts in plain language. Supporting resources include `references/email-templates.md` and `references/jargon-simplification.md`.

Its allowed tools are `Read`, `Glob`, and `Grep`. These can inspect files and locate relevant material, but they do not send emails or chat messages. For Claude Code, installation options include an `npx` command or placing `SKILL.md` in the user's skills directory.
