## What it does

proactive-agent describes how an agent can act without waiting for a request and keep useful details between sessions. Its memory setup separates active task state, daily records, and curated long-term notes. Before answering questions about earlier work, the agent is told to search memory rather than guess.

When a user corrects something or makes a decision, the agent writes the detail to `SESSION-STATE.md` before replying. Once context reaches 60%, a working buffer records messages and brief response summaries for recovery after compaction. The quick start also copies Markdown assets into the workspace; that setup depends on those files being present.

Install it in Claude Code with `npx skills add halthelobster/proactive-agent --skill proactive-agent -a claude-code`. The quick-start process also runs `./scripts/security-audit.sh` as a security check.
