## What it does

The skill covers Prisma ORM 7 migration requirements, including ESM, the `prisma-client` generator with an explicit `output`, and CLI settings in `prisma.config.ts`. It also explains that client creation needs a driver adapter and that environment variables must be loaded explicitly. Prisma CLI no longer loads `.env` files on its own.

Generation and seeding are now explicit steps: `prisma migrate dev` and `prisma db push` do not generate the client automatically. The skill also addresses replacing `prisma.$use(...)` with client extensions and handling Prisma Accelerate URLs. MongoDB is not supported in Prisma ORM 7, so an application that depends on it needs to stay on version 6.
