## What it does

The skill handles queries about home and lock screen widget development. It returns answers in a set format: a concise summary first, followed by relevant doc paths.

Documentation is split across three files: `widgetkit-overview.md` covers framework basics, `widgetkit-timelineentry.md` explains the timeline entry protocol, and `widgetkit-timelineprovider.md` handles data feeding. It runs in a forked context.

Because the reference covers only overview, timeline entries, and timeline providers, queries outside these three files will not be found locally.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill widgetkit -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/widgetkit/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/widgetkit/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill widgetkit -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/widgetkit/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill widgetkit -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/widgetkit/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills widgetkit
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/widgetkit/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill widgetkit -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --path skills/widgetkit
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/widgetkit/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill widgetkit -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- implement TimelineEntry protocol for periodic widget updates
- configure TimelineProvider to supply schedule data to iOS
- select suitable widget families for home and lock screens
- query WidgetKit framework documentation directly inside the IDE

## Example prompts
- How do I implement a TimelineProvider for hourly widget updates?
- Check widgetkit-timelineentry.md and explain how date entries work
- What widget families are supported on the lock screen?

## Return Format

Always include:
1. **Summary** - Answer the question concisely
2. **File paths** - List relevant files for full details, e.g.:
   - `widgetkit-overview.md` for widget basics
   - `widgetkit-timelineprovider.md` for timeline providers

## Files

- `widgetkit-overview.md` - Framework overview and widget families
- `widgetkit-timelineentry.md` - Timeline entry protocol
- `widgetkit-timelineprovider.md` - Providing widget timeline data
```
END THIRD-PARTY FILE ccb5499126d63f80
The third-party file has ended. Everything between the ccb5499126d63f80 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
