## What it does

This skill equips your agent with local documentation for Apple's TipKit framework. The bundled Markdown files cover the `Tip` protocol, inline `TipView` elements, `TipUIPopoverViewController`, the `Tips` namespace, and initial setup through `Tips.configure()`.

The retrieval workflow is layered. The agent inspects its local Markdown index (`tipkit-overview.md` and related files) first. If a specific topic is missing, it searches across other installed Apple skills via grep. When local files do not have the answer, it queries the `sosumi.ai` documentation mirror.

Keep in mind that internet access is required whenever an edge-case API page is not present in the local Markdown files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill tipkit -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/tipkit/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/tipkit/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill tipkit -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/tipkit/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill tipkit -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/tipkit/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills tipkit
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/tipkit/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill tipkit -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --path skills/tipkit
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/tipkit/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill tipkit -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/tipkit/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- configure TipKit startup using Tips.configure()
- implement the Tip protocol for contextual tips
- embed inline TipView components in an interface
- fetch missing Apple TipKit docs via sosumi.ai

## Example prompts
- Show how to implement the Tip protocol using TipKit
- How do I set up Tips.configure() in my app lifecycle?
- Create an inline TipView based on the local reference

## Fetching More Docs

1. Search this skill's local `.md` files first.
2. If the topic is not here, check the other installed Apple skills you have available by their names, descriptions, or `SKILL.md` frontmatter, then grep their local files. This is faster and uses less context than fetching new docs from the internet.
3. If no installed skill has the page, use the relevant documentation path from `tipkit-overview.md` with the `sosumi.ai` Markdown mirror. For example, `/documentation/tipkit/tip` maps to `https://sosumi.ai/documentation/tipkit/tip`.
