## What it does

The skill searches a small set of docs and returns a short answer plus the file paths that hold the full details. Three files ship with it: `eventkit-index.md` for the framework overview, events and reminders, `ekeventstore.md` for store access and permissions, and `ekreminder.md` for creating and managing reminders.

It runs in a forked context — the frontmatter sets `context: fork` and hands the work to the `Explore` subagent. Questions about `EKEventStore`, `EKEvent` and `EKReminder` stay out of your main session, and the answer arrives with paths you can open yourself.

The skill only answers from those three files. Ask about anything outside them and you get nothing back, so it is worth checking the index first to see whether your question is covered. Install runs through `npx skills add` on most platforms; GitHub Copilot uses `gh skill install` instead.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill eventkit -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/eventkit/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/eventkit/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill eventkit -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/eventkit/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill eventkit -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/eventkit/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills eventkit
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/eventkit/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill eventkit -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --path skills/eventkit
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/eventkit/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill eventkit -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/eventkit/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- check how to request calendar access with `EKEventStore`
- find the methods for creating a reminder
- tell `EKEvent` and `EKReminder` apart
- get doc file paths instead of a paraphrased answer
- ask an EventKit question without filling the main agent session

## Example prompts
- How do I request calendar access with EKEventStore?
- Show me how to create an EKReminder with a due date
- Search the EventKit docs for working with events and reminders
