## What it does

One command — `node bin/search.js` with a city, dates and guest count — runs the whole pipeline: the Patchright daemon, an Agoda cache lookup, inline Google and Booking searches, and an OpenTravel API call. You get tier cards for best value, cheapest and quality picks. Prices are normalized to USD, and each hotel carries a direct link to the cheapest OTA.

The skill needs `node` and `npx`. No API keys, no MCP server. `OPENTRAVEL_API_BASE_URL` is optional and only overrides the OpenTravel API host. The first search in a new city takes 2–4 minutes while the skill discovers selectors; the output shows `discovering` or `launching` messages. Don't abort or retry during that window.

Here's the part that trips people up: don't drive the browser with your runtime's native tools and don't hand the task to a subagent. Native `browser_*` calls spawn a vanilla Chromium with no stealth, so Booking.com and Agoda flag the bot within seconds and the request hangs until it times out. A delegated subagent starts with no skill context and falls back to Python or curl scraping that gets blocked right away. The one path that works is `search.js` in the current agent.
