# price-alert

A skill that watches the tracked token's price and pings you on a new all-time high, a sharp hourly swing, or a level you set yourself.

## What it does

The skill pulls the contract and chain from the “Tracked Token” section of `memory/MEMORY.md`. No section, or a contract that doesn't look like a `0x…` address, and it stops quietly. Prices come from DexScreener with no API key; when a plain `curl` GET misbehaves, it retries through WebFetch.

State lives in `memory/topics/price-alert-state.json` — the stored all-time high, per-event alert timestamps, and the history of crossed targets. The file is created with defaults on the first run. The ATH only moves up: a lower reading leaves the stored value untouched. Each event type keeps its own four-hour dedup clock, so the same move won't ping twice.

Targets are registered by hand. `set-target:<price>` records a level and answers with a one-line confirmation, while `dry-run` runs the check without sending a notification — state still updates. The target list accepts scientific notation such as `5e-6`. Junk in the argument is dropped with a log entry and the run continues on whatever survives. Anything outside those three event classes gets no ping at all, so ordinary days stay silent.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill price-alert -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/price-alert/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/price-alert/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill price-alert -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/price-alert/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill price-alert -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/price-alert/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install aeonfun/aeon price-alert
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/price-alert/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill price-alert -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/aeonfun/aeon --path skills/price-alert
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/price-alert/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add aeonfun/aeon --skill price-alert -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- hear about a new all-time high the same day
- catch a sharp one-hour price swing
- get a signal when a chosen level is crossed
- register a target straight from a Telegram reply
- test the gates without sending a notification

## Example prompts
- Register a target at set-target:0.000005
- Run the price check in dry-run mode
- Check whether the price crossed 0.000005 or 5e-6

> **${var}** — Optional. Pass one or more `target_price` levels (comma-separated USD numbers, scientific notation allowed) to fire a one-time alert when the price crosses any of them. Empty = only ATH and sharp-move gates run. Pass `dry-run` to skip notify (state still updates). Pass `set-target:<price>` — the shape the Telegram force-reply sends (step 7) — to register a target and get a one-line confirmation.

Today is ${today}. The scheduled digests (`digest`, `token-movers`, ...) run at fixed hours. None of them tell the operator "the price just hit a new high" or "the token moved 28% in the last hour" — both are events that warrant attention the moment they happen, not 14 hours later in a daily digest. This skill closes that window.

## Why this exists

Scheduled daily digests are calm summaries. Real moves need real-time signal. Three classes of move are worth a same-day ping:
- **New all-time high.** The single most narrative-shaping price event a token can have. Worth marking on the timeline regardless of size.
- **Sharp 1h moves (±20%).** Either a buyer wave or a liquidation cascade — both change what the operator does next (post about it, watch for follow-through, check the chart).
- **Operator-set target crossings.** The operator may want to know when price clears $X (often a personal stretch goal or a level tied to a tweet/launch). One alert per target per direction.

Everything else is noise not worth a same-day ping.

## Config

Reads:
- `memory/MEMORY.md` "Tracked Token" section — the tracked token's contract/chain. If absent, exit silently.
- `memory/topics/price-alert-state.json` — last-known ATH, last-alert timestamps per event type, target-crossing history. Created with defaults on first run.

Writes:
- `memory/topics/price-alert-state.json` — updated state every run.
- `memory/logs/${today}.md` — one log block per run, even on `OK`.
- Notification via `./notify` — only when a gate fires.

No new secrets. Uses keyless DexScreener; falls back to WebFetch when a public `curl` GET is flaky (there is no network sandbox).
