## What it does

The skill hands your agent a rulebook for Uniwind: how to wire the Metro plugin, where the CSS entry file belongs, how to build a theme on CSS variables. Rules sit in 8 categories ordered by impact, from build-time configuration down to NativeWind migration. Each category carries a prefix (`build-`, `theme-`, `comp-`, `resp-`, `perf-`, `plat-`, `state-`, `compat-`), so a specific reference file is easy to find by name.

Under the hood it is a set of reference files in `references/`, one per rule, with explanations and code samples. The agent pulls them in while writing or refactoring Uniwind code: wrapping third-party components with `withUniwind`, responsive layouts, `Pressable` states, dark mode via `dark:`. There is a performance block too — static class names, `tailwind-merge`, moving away from inline styles.

The rules assume Tailwind 4 with CSS-first configuration, so on an older syntax you will have to adapt some of them. Metro needs a restart after config changes, otherwise nothing picks up. The section on group variants for parent-child styling is marked as work in progress, so do not count on it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pproenca/dot-skills --skill uniwind -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/uniwind/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/uniwind/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pproenca/dot-skills --skill uniwind -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/uniwind/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pproenca/dot-skills --skill uniwind -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/uniwind/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install pproenca/dot-skills uniwind
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/uniwind/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pproenca/dot-skills --skill uniwind -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/pproenca/dot-skills --path skills/.experimental/uniwind
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/uniwind/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pproenca/dot-skills --skill uniwind -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- configure the Metro plugin and CSS entry point for Uniwind
- build a theme on CSS variables with light and dark variants
- wrap a third-party component for className support with withUniwind
- migrate a project from NativeWind to Uniwind
- replace inline styles with className

## Example prompts
- Set up Uniwind in a new React Native project: Metro plugin and CSS entry
- Refactor this screen to follow the uniwind rules and drop inline styles
- Help me migrate these components from NativeWind to Uniwind
