## What it does

The skill runs `yahoo-finance-pp-cli` for quotes, historical prices, fundamentals, and symbol lookup. It also keeps portfolio data, watchlists, and history cache locally in SQLite. CLI responses are emitted as JSON.

It can calculate portfolio returns using cost basis and dividends, produce a `digest` with news and scheduled events, and filter option chains by moneyness or expiry. Other commands compare total returns across symbols, screen locally synced data, identify covered-call candidates, and calculate watchlist correlations.

\`yahoo-finance-pp-cli` must be installed and visible on `$PATH`. Check `yahoo-finance-pp-cli --version` before using the skill. If a host receives a 429 response, `auth login --chrome` can import cookies from a live Chrome session.

# Yahoo Finance — Printing Press CLI

## Prerequisites: Install the CLI

This skill drives the `yahoo-finance-pp-cli` binary. **You must verify the CLI is installed before invoking any command from this skill.** If it is missing, install it first:

1. Install via the Printing Press installer. It defaults binaries to `$HOME/.local/bin` on macOS/Linux and `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\PrintingPress\bin` on Windows:
   ```bash

   ```
2. Verify: `yahoo-finance-pp-cli --version`
3. Ensure the reported install directory is on `$PATH` for the agent/runtime that will invoke this skill.

If the `npx` install fails (no Node, offline, etc.), fall back to a direct Go install (requires Go 1.26.6 or newer):

If `--version` reports "command not found" after install, the runtime cannot see the binary directory on `$PATH`. Do not proceed with skill commands until verification succeeds.
