## What it does

This skill controls the `scrape-creators-pp-cli` binary to pull public data across 28 platforms. It saves posts and comment threads directly into an SQLite database with FTS5 search.

Credit management is central here. The `account estimate` command checks planned spending against your balance and exits with an error before draining credits mid-run. For discussions, `comments thread` automatically selects the cheaper path between a 15-credit flat fetch and 1-credit per-reply calls.

This tool handles public data only. It cannot publish posts or access private profiles. The skill fails immediately if `scrape-creators-pp-cli` is missing from your `$PATH`. Direct Go compilation demands Go 1.26.6 or newer.

# Scrape Creators — Printing Press CLI

## Prerequisites: Install the CLI

This skill drives the `scrape-creators-pp-cli` binary. **You must verify the CLI is installed before invoking any command from this skill.** If it is missing, install it first:

1. Install via the Printing Press installer. It defaults binaries to `$HOME/.local/bin` on macOS/Linux and `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\PrintingPress\bin` on Windows:
   ```bash
   npx -y @mvanhorn/printing-press-library install scrape-creators --cli-only
   ```
2. Verify: `scrape-creators-pp-cli --version`
3. Ensure the reported install directory is on `$PATH` for the agent/runtime that will invoke this skill.

If the `npx` install fails (no Node, offline, etc.), fall back to a direct Go install (requires Go 1.26.6 or newer). This installs into `$GOPATH/bin` (default `$HOME/go/bin`), so add that directory to `$PATH` instead:

If `--version` reports "command not found" after install, the runtime cannot see the binary directory on `$PATH`. Do not proceed with skill commands until verification succeeds.
