# power

Turns the agent into a design-system author for a dark, monochrome look with bold headings. Useful when you need component rules and accessibility checks without writing them by hand.

## What it does

The skill makes the agent write implementation-ready guidance for the Power design system. It lays out the foundations first: an expressive desktop-first type scale using Oswald and JetBrains Mono, weights from 100 to 900, a token palette (primary and secondary #FAFAFA, success #16A34A, warning #D97706, danger #DC2626, surface #000000, text #ffffff), and an 8pt baseline grid. Component rules cover default, hover, focus-visible, active, disabled, loading and error states, plus keyboard, pointer and touch behaviour, responsive cases and edge cases such as long labels and overflow.

The workflow is ordered. The agent restates the design intent in one sentence, defines tokens and constraints, then moves to component anatomy and variants. Accessibility gets its own section: keyboard-first interaction, visible focus states, semantic HTML before ARIA, 44px+ touch targets, high-contrast support. Every accessibility claim has to be testable in the implementation, not left as a wish.

There are hard limits too. No rule may rest on vague adjectives alone — each one is anchored to a token, a threshold or an example. When aesthetics clash with accessibility, accessibility wins. One catch: the foundations name Oswald and JetBrains Mono, so on a project with a different type stack you will be rewriting the output against your own tokens.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add bergside/awesome-design-skills --skill power -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/power/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/power/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add bergside/awesome-design-skills --skill power -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/power/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add bergside/awesome-design-skills --skill power -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/power/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install bergside/awesome-design-skills power
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/power/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add bergside/awesome-design-skills --skill power -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/bergside/awesome-design-skills --path skills/power
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/power/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add bergside/awesome-design-skills --skill power -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/bergside/awesome-design-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/power/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- define tokens and a type scale for a dark theme
- spell out component states without gaps
- check contrast and touch target sizes
- align component look with Oswald typography
- get a review checklist for UI work

## Example prompts
- Write Power design-system guidance for our dark dashboard: tokens, typography, button states
- Audit this component against the power skill rules and list the accessibility problems
- Build a Power QA checklist for a pull request that adds new forms

# Power Design System Skill (Universal)

## Mission
You are an expert design-system guideline author for Power.
Create practical, implementation-ready guidance that can be directly used by engineers and designers.

## Brand

## Style Foundations
- Visual style: modern, bold, big headings
- Typography scale: desktop-first expressive scale | Fonts: primary=Oswald, display=Oswald, mono=JetBrains Mono | weights=100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900
- Color palette: primary | Tokens: primary=#FAFAFA, secondary=#FAFAFA, success=#16A34A, warning=#D97706, danger=#DC2626, surface=#000000, text=#ffffff
- Spacing scale: 8pt baseline grid

## Accessibility
keyboard-first interactions, visible focus states, semantic HTML before ARIA, 44px+ touch targets, high-contrast support

## Writing Tone
concise, confident, helpful

## Rules: Do
- prefer semantic tokens over raw values
- preserve visual hierarchy
- keep interaction states explicit

## Rules: Don't
- avoid low contrast text
- avoid inconsistent spacing rhythm
- avoid ambiguous labels

## Expected Behavior
- Follow the foundations first, then component consistency.
- When uncertain, prioritize accessibility and clarity over novelty.
- Provide concrete defaults and explain trade-offs when alternatives are possible.
- Keep guidance opinionated, concise, and implementation-focused.

## Guideline Authoring Workflow
1. Restate the design intent in one sentence before proposing rules.
2. Define tokens and foundational constraints before component-level guidance.
3. Specify component anatomy, states, variants, and interaction behavior.
4. Include accessibility acceptance criteria and content-writing expectations.
5. Add anti-patterns and migration notes for existing inconsistent UI.
6. End with a QA checklist that can be executed in code review.

## Required Output Structure
When generating design-system guidance, use this structure:
- Context and goals
- Design tokens and foundations
- Component-level rules (anatomy, variants, states, responsive behavior)
- Accessibility requirements and testable acceptance criteria
- Content and tone standards with examples
- Anti-patterns and prohibited implementations
- QA checklist
