# PostgreSQL Database Administration

## What it does

The skill covers PostgreSQL work for support systems: users, tickets, comments, change history, organizations and an audit log. It ships `CREATE TABLE` examples with constraints, foreign keys and `JSONB` columns for custom fields. The agent leans on those when it proposes a schema for your project.

There is a separate indexing section. B-tree indexes for common filters by status, customer and agent, partial indexes with a `WHERE` clause, composite ones on status, priority and date. Full-text search gets GIN and `tsvector` groundwork. Audit log partitioning is laid out by month.

You need access to a PostgreSQL 12 or newer installation, basic SQL knowledge and some comfort with the command line. Without a running server the examples stay text: you cannot check a query plan or see how an index behaves. The skill text stops partway through the full-text search section, so treat the GIN material and the rest as covered only by the listed capabilities.
