# portfolio-status

Rolls every active matter from _log.yaml into one page: risk bands, upcoming deadlines, reserves, files gone quiet. Made for the three minutes before a call.

## What it does

The skill reads `~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/litigation-legal/matters/_log.yaml` and prints a single rollup: risk distribution, deadlines at 14, 30 and 60 days, reserve and disclosed totals, stage spread. Closed matters stay out of the count until you pass `--all`.

Risk bands come from the plugin's `CLAUDE.md` calibration, which the skill loads first, because the `risk:` field otherwise means whatever the reader wants. Filters: `--risk=high`, `--stale`, `--type=employment`, `--owner=[name]`. The anomaly pass carries most of the weight: an overdue `next_deadline`, no update in over 30 days, conflicts left pending or never run, an override still active on a matter, high or critical risk with no outside counsel, a reserve untouched for 60 days, no legal hold issued, required fields sitting empty.

Materiality numbers are midpoints of the exposure range. Read them as rough, since that is what they are. And the rollup only knows what the log knows: an empty `_log.yaml` produces an empty summary, not a warning. The skill ranks nothing, the lawyer sets priority.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anthropics/claude-for-legal --skill portfolio-status -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/portfolio-status/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/portfolio-status/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anthropics/claude-for-legal --skill portfolio-status -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/portfolio-status/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anthropics/claude-for-legal --skill portfolio-status -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/portfolio-status/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install anthropics/claude-for-legal portfolio-status
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/portfolio-status/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

gemini skills install https://github.com/anthropics/claude-for-legal --path litigation-legal/skills/portfolio-status
```
### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)
**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/portfolio-status/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works
### OpenCode
## When to use it
- get one status page across all open matters before a call
- surface matters with no update in over 30 days
- total the reserves and disclosed exposure across the portfolio
- catch an overdue deadline or a missing legal hold
- list high-risk matters with no outside counsel assigned
## Example prompts
- Where do we stand? Roll up the portfolio: `/portfolio-status`
- Show only the ones that have gone quiet: `/portfolio-status --stale`
- How many open matters are high risk: `/portfolio-status --risk=high`
name: portfolio-status
description: Roll up the portfolio from _log.yaml — risk distribution, upcoming deadlines, stale matters, materiality totals, stage distribution, and flagged anomalies. Use when the user asks "where do we stand", "how many open matters", or wants a portfolio rollup or status across all active matters.
argument-hint: "[--all | --risk=high | --stale]"
# /portfolio-status
1. Load `~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/litigation-legal/CLAUDE.md` → risk calibration (defines how to read the `risk:` field).
2. Follow the workflow and reference below.
3. Parse `~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/litigation-legal/matters/_log.yaml`. Filter closed matters by default (include with `--all`).
4. Produce rollup: risk distribution, deadlines in next 14/30/60 days, matters with no update in >30 days, materiality totals, stage distribution.
5. Flag anomalies — everything marked critical, overdue next_deadline, matters without outside counsel assigned where risk is medium or high.
# Portfolio Status
## Purpose
One read that answers: what do I own right now, what needs attention, and what's slipping? Output is scannable — designed for a counsel who has three minutes before their next call.
## Load context
- `~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/litigation-legal/matters/_log.yaml` — source of truth
- `~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal/litigation-legal/CLAUDE.md` — risk calibration (to interpret risk/materiality fields correctly)
## Flags & filters
Default: active matters only (exclude `status: closed`).
Flags:
- `--all` — include closed
- `--risk=high` (or `critical` / `medium` / `low`) — filter by risk band
- `--stale` — only matters with `last_updated` > 30 days
- `--type=employment` — filter by matter type
- `--owner=[name]` — filter by business/HR/comms owner
## The rollup
