## What it does

The skill hands your agent ready TypeScript templates: launch Chromium, open a context with `recordVideo`, navigate pages, fill forms, scroll smoothly, log in. Clips land in `./recordings`, and frame size is set twice — in `viewport` and in `size`. For Remotion the suggested value is 1920×1080.

There is a separate section on cursor visuals. Playwright hides the cursor by default, so the script injects a CSS circle plus `mousemove`, `mousedown` and `mouseup` listeners, and clicks become visible in the clip. A ripple effect on click is included too.

You need Node.js and Chromium before anything runs: `npm install -D playwright @playwright/test`, then `npx playwright install chromium`. Scripts run through `npx ts-node` or `npx tsx`. Slow motion belongs in `chromium.launch({ slowMo: 100 })`, not in the context — put it in the wrong place and the recorded motion stays jerky.

## Requirements
- Works with: Playwright

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit --skill playwright-recording -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/playwright-recording/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/playwright-recording/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit --skill playwright-recording -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/playwright-recording/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit --skill playwright-recording -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/playwright-recording/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit playwright-recording
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/playwright-recording/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit --skill playwright-recording -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit --path .claude/skills/playwright-recording
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/playwright-recording/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit --skill playwright-recording -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit/tree/HEAD/.claude/skills/playwright-recording/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- record an app demo as a video file
- capture a multi-page site walkthrough
- show a form being filled at a realistic typing speed
- scroll a long page smoothly for b-roll
- highlight the cursor and clicks that the recording misses

## Example prompts
- record a demo video of the app pages with playwright-recording
- write a form recording script with slowMo 50 and save video to ./recordings
- add cursor highlighting and a click effect to the recording

# Playwright Video Recording

Playwright can record browser interactions as video - perfect for demo footage in Remotion compositions.

## Quick Start

### Installation

```bash
# In your video project
npm init -y
npm install -D playwright @playwright/test
npx playwright install chromium
```

### Basic Recording Script

```typescript
// scripts/record-demo.ts
import { chromium } from 'playwright';
async function recordDemo() {
  const browser = await chromium.launch();
  const context = await browser.newContext({
    viewport: { width: 1920, height: 1080 },
    recordVideo: {
      dir: './recordings',
      size: { width: 1920, height: 1080 }
    }
  });
  const page = await context.newPage();
  // Your recording actions
  await page.goto('https://example.com');
  await page.waitForTimeout(2000);
  await page.click('button.demo');
  await page.waitForTimeout(3000);
  // Close to save video
  await context.close();
  await browser.close();
  console.log('Recording saved to ./recordings/');
}
recordDemo();
```

Run with:
```bash
npx ts-node scripts/record-demo.ts
# or
npx tsx scripts/record-demo.ts
```

## Recording Configuration

### Viewport Sizes

```typescript
// Standard 1080p (recommended for Remotion)
viewport: { width: 1920, height: 1080 }
// 720p (smaller files)
viewport: { width: 1280, height: 720 }
// Square (social media)
viewport: { width: 1080, height: 1080 }
// Mobile
viewport: { width: 390, height: 844 } // iPhone 14
```

### Video Quality Settings

```typescript
const context = await browser.newContext({
  viewport: { width: 1920, height: 1080 },
  recordVideo: {
    dir: './recordings',
    size: { width: 1920, height: 1080 } // Match viewport for crisp output
  },
  // Slow down for visibility
  // Note: slowMo is on browser launch, not context
});
// For slow motion, launch browser with slowMo
const browser = await chromium.launch({
  slowMo: 100 // 100ms delay between actions
});
```

## Recording Patterns

### Form Submission Demo

```typescript
import { chromium } from 'playwright';
async function recordFormDemo() {
  const browser = await chromium.launch({ slowMo: 50 });
  const context = await browser.newContext({
    viewport: { width: 1920, height: 1080 },
