# platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate

Coordinates an Apex-backed Lightning Type with an HXL widget. Use it when a request explicitly names a Lightning Type or an @apexClassType/... schema.

## What it does

This skill chooses between an existing Lightning Type and a new one. For an existing type, it searches the project for `schema.json`, can retrieve the Lightning Type with `sf project retrieve`, then checks the root type and its backing Apex class.

For a new type, it loads `platform-apex-generate`, `platform-custom-lightning-type-generate`, and `platform-widget-generate` in dependency order. It prints a build plan, uses phase checkpoints, runs validation gates, and reports written files plus preview readiness. This is a hard boundary: object or JSON types rooted in `lightning__objectType` are outside its scope.

The workflow requires `git` >=2.0.0, `jq` >=1.6.0, `sf` >=2.0.0, and API version 68.0. When several matching types are found, it asks the user to choose one.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-lightning-type-widget-coordinate -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- create an Apex class, Lightning Type, and HXL widget for a new type
- locate an existing Lightning Type in a project or org
- retrieve the backing Apex class into the local project
- check that the schema remains unchanged while adding a widget

## Example prompts
- Create a new Lightning Type and HXL widget for `@apexClassType/<namespace>__<ClassName>`.
- Build an HXL widget for the existing Lightning Type `@apexClassType/<namespace>__<ClassName>`.
- Create a card for a Lightning Type that uses an Apex class as its schema.

# Building a Lightning Type With a Widget

Coordinate Lightning Type, Apex class, and HXL widget generation across the two paths below. This skill never authors content directly — it loads and invokes leaf skills in dependency order, gates progress on user approval, and runs validation gates before reporting completion.

## Scope

Apex-backed Lightning Types only — root `lightning:type` of the form `@apexClassType/<namespace>__<ClassName>` (outer class). The class itself carries the `@AuraEnabled` fields that define the payload shape; nested list-element types live as inner classes referenced by `List<Inner>` fields on the outer class. Object/JSON-based Lightning Types (root `lightning__objectType` with primitive `properties`) are out of scope; route those to `platform-custom-lightning-type-generate` and `platform-widget-generate` separately.

## Phase Graph

| Phase | Purpose | Runs in | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 — Path selection | Pick the path (`existing-lightning-type-with-widget` · `new-lightning-type-with-widget`) from the user prompt. | All paths | `path` |
