## What it does

This skill creates or updates DataSpace access for a `PermissionSet` through `dataspaceScopes` in metadata XML and an MDAPI deployment. It can set `dataAccessLevel` and `objectAccessLevel`, then identify permission sets that hold a selected DataSpace scope.

For DMO, DLO, or CIO objects, it can prepare Object Access Grants Connect API requests for object-level access. It also retrieves `PermissionSet` metadata in read-only mode to inspect scopes or confirm that a scope was removed.

Retrieve an existing `PermissionSet` with `sf project retrieve start` before editing it. An MDAPI deployment replaces the full metadata record, so hand-written XML can remove permissions already in the org. The skill requires `sf` `>=2.0.0`, `jq` `>=1.6.0`, `python3` `>=3.6`, and API version `67.0`.

## Requirements
- Works with: Salesforce

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-dataspace-access-configure -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/platform-dataspace-access-configure/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/platform-dataspace-access-configure/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-dataspace-access-configure -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/platform-dataspace-access-configure/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-dataspace-access-configure -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/platform-dataspace-access-configure/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install forcedotcom/sf-skills platform-dataspace-access-configure
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/platform-dataspace-access-configure/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-dataspace-access-configure -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills --path skills/platform-dataspace-access-configure
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/platform-dataspace-access-configure/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add forcedotcom/sf-skills --skill platform-dataspace-access-configure -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- add a DataSpace scope to a permission set
- change data and object access levels
- grant DMO, DLO, or CIO object access
- find permission sets with a DataSpace scope
- remove a DataSpace scope from a permission set

## Example prompts
- Add DataSpace `default` access to permission set `AnalyticsAccess` with the required access levels.
- Show permission sets that have access to DataSpace `default`.
- Grant `AnalyticsAccess` access to a DMO object in DataSpace `default`.

# platform-dataspace-access-configure

Configure DataSpace access in Salesforce Data Cloud using a two-layer model:

1. **DataSpace-level access** — grant a `PermissionSet` access to a DataSpace by embedding a `<dataspaceScopes>` element in the permission set XML and deploying via MDAPI.
2. **Object-level access (optional)** — grant that permission set access to specific DMO / DLO / CIO objects within the DataSpace using the Object Access Grants Connect API.

The MDAPI layer is required to establish the PermissionSet → DataSpace linkage. The Connect API layer is optional and only needed when access should be scoped to specific objects rather than governed entirely by data governance policies.

## Decide the Case First

Pick exactly one case from the table below before writing any files. Each case has a different output shape.

| Case | User intent | Permission set state | Files to emit |
|---|---|---|---|
| **A. Create new permset with DS access** | "create a permission set called X with dataspace scope Y" | does NOT exist yet | `permissionsets/<Name>.permissionset-meta.xml` **and** `package.xml` |
```
The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 2e60031e103654a9 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
