## What it does

You hand the skill a US phone number or ask it to find a place matching your query. It writes the call brief, dials the business, and navigates automated phone trees. If the person answering asks for a specific detail, the agent pings you mid-call. Every completed task yields a verified status code alongside the audio recording and transcript.

Claude Code integrates via the MCP server after a browser login, so basic calls require no API key. Other environments rely on `curl` and the `PLACECALL_API_KEY` environment variable pointing to `api.voygr.tech`.

Calls work strictly on US lines. Numbers in Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, and Nebraska fail by design. Each conversation announces call recording upfront, and files remain on the servers for 90 days.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add voygr-tech/placecall --skill placecall -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/placecall/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/placecall/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add voygr-tech/placecall --skill placecall -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/placecall/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add voygr-tech/placecall --skill placecall -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/placecall/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install voygr-tech/placecall placecall
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/placecall/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add voygr-tech/placecall --skill placecall -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/voygr-tech/placecall --path skills/placecall
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/placecall/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add voygr-tech/placecall --skill placecall -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/voygr-tech/placecall/tree/HEAD/skills/placecall/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- book tables or appointments at US venues
- request pricing and product availability over the phone
- bypass IVR phone menus and wait times
- inspect phone call audio recordings and text transcripts

## Example prompts
- Call a quiet bistro in Chicago and book a table for two this Friday at 7 PM.
- Dial +1-202-555-0143 to ask if they have brake pads in stock.
- Ring the dental clinic to check their earliest consultation opening.

# PlaceCall

PlaceCall lets your agent call US businesses to handle reservations, gather
information and get quotes. You get back the outcome and a transcript. First
250 calls free. Built by ex-Google Maps and Search developers.

## What PlaceCall does

Give PlaceCall a US number (or a list) and a task in plain English, such as
an inquiry, a quote request or a booking. It dials, navigates IVRs and hold,
and talks to the business.

No number? Describe the place instead, for example "a romantic restaurant in
Chicago, Saturday 8pm". PlaceCall finds candidates, explains why it picked
them and writes the call brief for you.

Put the full job in the brief: what to ask, who it's for, names, dates, party
size, callback number and the outcome you want. If the agent needs more, it
asks you mid-call.

## What it handles

- Book, cancel or reschedule tables and appointments
- Verify info, follow up on orders, check stock, get quotes
- Contact many businesses at once
- Recommend the best venue, service or vendor when you don't have a number
- Report what happened, and raise a question mid-call if needed

## What you get back

Every call returns one of 17 verified outcomes, plus the full transcript and
recording. A failed call comes back with its reason, such as a dropped call,
a busy line, voicemail or a wrong number.

## Setup

**Installed the Claude Code, Codex or Cursor plugin?** The plugin also connects
the PlaceCall MCP server. Sign in once in a browser (Claude Code: `/mcp`, pick
`placecall`; Codex: `codex mcp login placecall`), and you can find places,
place calls and follow them with no key. A few API options still need a key:
switching off recording or changing the opening notice, canceling a call, and
listing your calls. See
[Which path: MCP tools or `curl`](#which-path-mcp-tools-or-curl).

**Everywhere else** (OpenClaw, a copied skill, the Codex skill installer),
```
