# pipefy-pipes-and-cards

Gives your agent read and write access to Pipefy pipes, phases, fields and cards. Handy when you need to fill empty phases for a demo or a QA pass.

## What it does

The skill covers Pipefy entities through MCP or the CLI: pipes, phases, phase fields, labels, cards, attachments, comments and field conditions. Before doing anything, the agent reads only the reference for the surface in use — `references/mcp.md` or `references/cli.md`. Operation names and arguments are shared between them.

One workflow is dedicated to seeding phases with cards for demos or QA. The agent loads phases with `get_pipe`, finds the empty ones via `get_phase_cards_count`, creates cards, then verifies the result with `get_phase_cards`. Moves go through `get_phase_allowed_move_targets` first, because transition edges live in the Pipefy UI only. The API cannot add them, so an empty `allowed_phases` list blocks the move — check Phase → Connections by hand.

After every write the skill asks for a re-read with the matching get tool. A write response on its own is not proof. `delete_pipe`, `delete_phase` and `delete_phase_field` are flagged destructive and meant to be approved first. A phase `index` is a float sort key, and between 2 and 3 the skill advises two decimal places: `2.10` and `2.1` are the same float, so the tenth value ties with the first.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pipefy/ai-toolkit --skill pipefy-pipes-and-cards -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/pipefy-pipes-and-cards/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/pipefy-pipes-and-cards/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pipefy/ai-toolkit --skill pipefy-pipes-and-cards -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/pipefy-pipes-and-cards/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pipefy/ai-toolkit --skill pipefy-pipes-and-cards -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/pipefy-pipes-and-cards/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install pipefy/ai-toolkit pipefy-pipes-and-cards
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/pipefy-pipes-and-cards/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pipefy/ai-toolkit --skill pipefy-pipes-and-cards -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/pipefy/ai-toolkit --path plugins/pipefy/skills/pipefy-pipes-and-cards
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/pipefy-pipes-and-cards/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add pipefy/ai-toolkit --skill pipefy-pipes-and-cards -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/pipefy/ai-toolkit/tree/HEAD/plugins/pipefy/skills/pipefy-pipes-and-cards/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- read pipe metadata together with its phases and fields
- create a pipe and lay out phases in the right order
- seed empty phases with cards for a demo or QA
- add a field to a phase and set the required flag
- move a card only into an allowed phase

## Example prompts
- list the phases of pipe 301234567 and their fields
- seed the empty phases of pipe 301234567 with cards for a demo
- add a short_text field to phase 341234567

# Pipes & Cards

Read only the reference for your active surface: [MCP](references/mcp.md) or [CLI](references/cli.md). The workflows below use shared operation names and arguments.

Read, create, update, and delete pipes, phases, phase fields, labels, cards, attachments, and field conditions.

---

## Cross-cutting patterns

- **Field types** for `create_phase_field` are the API's `FieldTypeId` enum values (lower case, e.g. `short_text`, not `SHORT_TEXT`). The tool's input schema lists them.

- `extra_input` merges extra API keys (camelCase); keys that duplicate primary arguments are ignored.
- **Phase connections are UI-only.** Creating or reordering phases does not wire Phase Connections / `allowed_phases`. Configure edges in the Pipefy UI; use `get_phase_allowed_move_targets` before moves. The API cannot add transition edges.
- **Verify-after-write.** After create/update, re-read with the matching get tool (`get_pipe`, `get_card`, `get_phase_fields`, etc.) before reporting success. Do not treat the write response alone as proof.

## Pipe operations

| Operation | Read-only | Purpose |
| ------------ | ----------- | --------- |
| `get_pipe` | Yes | Fetch pipe metadata including phases and fields. |
| `search_pipes` | Yes | Search by name pattern. |
| `create_pipe` | No | Create a new pipe in the org. |
| `update_pipe` | No | Rename or change pipe settings. |
| `delete_pipe` | No | **Destructive; review and approve first.** |
| `clone_pipe` | No | Clone an existing pipe. |
| `get_pipe_members` | Yes | List members of a pipe. |

### Steps — create a pipe with phases

1. **Create the pipe:**

   `create_pipe name="Customer Onboarding" organization_id=300123456`

2. **Shape the phases.** `create_pipe` already adds Inbox, Doing and Done at keys 1, 2 and 3. Do not call `create_phase` once for every requested name on top of those three.
