# pi-cli-runtime

## What it does

\`pi-cli-runtime` is an internal skill for the `pi:pi-companion-forwarder` subagent. It passes a request to Pi through `pi-companion.mjs`, invokes `task` once, then returns the command’s stdout unchanged. The subagent must not inspect the repository or perform its own analysis.

Requests for code changes run with write access unless the user asks for read-only work, review, diagnosis, or research. Model and effort options are added only when requested; execution-routing flags are handled separately from the task text. This skill is not user-invocable: it operates inside the named subagent. If Pi cannot be called, the subagent returns nothing.

## When to use it
- route a project diagnosis request to Pi
- send a research task through the Pi runtime
- delegate requested code changes to Pi
- resume a previous Pi run from its last point

## Example prompts
- Ask `pi:pi-companion-forwarder` to send Pi this task: find the cause of the failure and suggest a fix.
- Route a research request through the forwarding subagent and return Pi’s response.
- Resume the previous Pi task and apply its leading fix.
