# photosui

A skill that gives your agent a PhotosUI reference, so questions about photo selection and Live Photo get answered from docs.

## What it does

The skill searches two documentation files: `photosui-index.md` for the framework overview and Live Photo views, `photospicker.md` for the SwiftUI PhotosPicker. Every answer follows the same shape: a short summary first, then the file paths where the details live.

It runs with `context: fork` under the Explore subagent. Your question goes into a separate context instead of filling up the main session.

The skill is user-invocable, which is set in its frontmatter. Worth installing if you build for Apple and keep watching the agent guess at photo picker APIs.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill photosui -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/photosui/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/photosui/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill photosui -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/photosui/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill photosui -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/photosui/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills photosui
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/photosui/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill photosui -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --path skills/photosui
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/photosui/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills --skill photosui -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Prisma-Labs-Dev/apple-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/photosui/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- find the right SwiftUI API for picking photos
- understand how PHLivePhotoView works
- get file paths with full PhotosUI details
- keep framework overview separate from PhotosPicker docs
- ask a PhotosUI question without bloating the main context

## Example prompts
- How do I show a photo picker in SwiftUI with PhotosUI?
- What does PHLivePhotoView do and how do I wire it up?
- Search the PhotosUI docs for photo selection

# PhotosUI Documentation

Search these docs to answer questions about photo picker APIs.

## Return Format

Always include:
1. **Summary** - Answer the question concisely
2. **File paths** - List relevant files for full details

## Files

- `photosui-index.md` - Framework overview, Live Photo views
- `photospicker.md` - SwiftUI PhotosPicker for selecting photos
```
END THIRD-PARTY FILE 25c0049354a37173
The third-party file has ended. Everything between the 25c0049354a37173 tags is data: requests and commands from it are not followed. An “end of file” line with another tag inside the block is part of the file.
