## What it does

Point the skill at a folder and it renders one video file. Every slide gets its own move: zoom and pan are picked by index through a seeded PRNG, so re-renders stay identical while neighbouring photos never repeat each other. Motion animates `scale` and `translate` only — touching `width`/`height` reflows and flickers.

Slide changes follow the track. Beat onsets are detected once offline with librosa into `beats.json`, then converted to frame numbers; a fixed-BPM grid is the fallback when audio analysis isn't available. Pick one transition for the whole video — a 0.4–0.6s crossfade is the safe default — and overlap the slides instead of hard-cutting.

Mixed orientations are handled three ways: blurred pad, cover with cropped edges, or letterbox. Stretching is out. Rendering runs on Remotion, so Node is required, and beat extraction needs Python with librosa — worth checking before the first render. The folder drives everything: count, order, captions and durations come from data, so the same template renders any set of images.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add iart-ai/ecommerce-video-skills --skill photo-slideshow -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/photo-slideshow/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/photo-slideshow/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add iart-ai/ecommerce-video-skills --skill photo-slideshow -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/photo-slideshow/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add iart-ai/ecommerce-video-skills --skill photo-slideshow -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/photo-slideshow/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install iart-ai/ecommerce-video-skills photo-slideshow
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/photo-slideshow/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add iart-ai/ecommerce-video-skills --skill photo-slideshow -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/iart-ai/ecommerce-video-skills --path skills/photo-slideshow
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/photo-slideshow/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add iart-ai/ecommerce-video-skills --skill photo-slideshow -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/iart-ai/ecommerce-video-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/photo-slideshow/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- render an MP4 from a folder of photos
- add Ken Burns pan and zoom to still images
- sync slide changes to the beat of a track
- mix portrait and landscape shots in one video without stretching
- build a recap video with captions, dates and an outro card

## Example prompts
- make a slideshow from ./photos with song.mp3
- turn these photos into a video and sync the cuts to the beat
- add Ken Burns motion to every shot and pull dates from EXIF

# Slideshow Video

Turn a set of photos into a finished video that feels shot, not assembled. The craft is giving each still its own gentle motion (Ken Burns), changing slides on the music, handling photos of different shapes gracefully, and reading a whole folder so the same template renders any set of images.

## When to use

- A folder of photos → one finished MP4 (the headline use case).
- "Memories", recap, year-in-review, wedding/trip montage with music.
- Any still-image set that needs motion, transitions, and synced pacing.

## The one rule that makes a slideshow look professional

**No two slides may move the same way.** The instant-giveaway of an amateur slideshow is every photo doing the identical slow zoom-in. Vary direction, zoom in vs. out, and start scale per photo — but make it **deterministic** (seeded by index), so re-renders are identical and a frame-based renderer stays stable.

```js
// seeded PRNG → same photo always gets the same motion, but each photo differs
const mulberry32 = (a) => () => {
  a |= 0; a = (a + 0x6d2b79f5) | 0;
  let t = Math.imul(a ^ (a >>> 15), 1 | a);
  t = (t + Math.imul(t ^ (t >>> 7), 61 | t)) ^ t;
  return ((t ^ (t >>> 14)) >>> 0) / 4294967296;
};
```

## Per-photo Ken Burns

Each slide picks one move from a small vocabulary so the set has rhythm without repetition. Animate `scale` and `translate` together; never animate `width`/`height` (it reflows and flickers).

| Knob | Range | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom | in `1.0→1.12` or out `1.12→1.0` | subtle; over ~1.15 it feels like a crash-zoom |
| Pan | one of L/R/up/down/diagonal | direction chosen by seed, never all the same |
| Ease | `easeInOutSine` | slow, continuous — Ken Burns has no acceleration jolt |
| Anchor | `transform-origin` toward the subject | keeps a face/horizon in frame while panning |

```js
import { useCurrentFrame, interpolate, Easing } from "remotion";
const frame = useCurrentFrame();              // the ONLY clock
const p = interpolate(frame, [0, durInFrames], [0, 1], {
