## What it does

The skill hands your agent a playbook for photo analysis: face and pet recognition, near-duplicate detection with perceptual hashes, picking the best frame from a burst, screenshot and meme classification, NSFW detection. A decision tree inside points to the right method per task — fast `dHash` for exact duplicates, `pHash` when brightness or contrast shifted, `DINOHash` for heavy crops and compression. For production it suggests a hybrid: `pHash` filters obvious non-matches first, then `DINOHash` refines.

Faces get two routes. One mirrors Apple Photos: embeddings of the face and upper body, then two agglomerative passes at 0.4 and 0.6 cosine thresholds. The other is `HDBSCAN`, which needs no threshold tuning and holds up better against noise when the data distribution is unknown. Burst selection scores sharpness, face quality, aesthetics, frame position and exposure. Screenshots are flagged by combining signals — UI elements, clean rectangles, text coverage, missing camera EXIF — with a 0.6 confidence cutoff.

It is not for GPS-based location clustering, palette extraction, image-text matching or video. The description points to separate skills for those. Indexing leans on a cache: a first pass over 10K photos runs about 13 minutes, an incremental one under a minute. If your library is tens of thousands of shots, plan where those embeddings will live before you start.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill photo-content-recognition-curation-expert -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/photo-content-recognition-curation-expert/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/photo-content-recognition-curation-expert/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill photo-content-recognition-curation-expert -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/photo-content-recognition-curation-expert/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill photo-content-recognition-curation-expert -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/photo-content-recognition-curation-expert/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install curiositech/some_claude_skills photo-content-recognition-curation-expert
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/photo-content-recognition-curation-expert/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill photo-content-recognition-curation-expert -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/curiositech/some_claude_skills --path .claude/skills/photo-content-recognition-curation-expert
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/photo-content-recognition-curation-expert/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add curiositech/some_claude_skills --skill photo-content-recognition-curation-expert -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- group photos by person without manual tagging
- strip near-duplicate shots from a burst
- pick the best frame out of 10-50 burst shots
- separate screenshots and downloaded memes from real photos
- index a 10K+ photo library with caching

## Example prompts
- Cluster faces across every photo in `photos/` and group them by person
- Find near-duplicate images in this archive and keep one per group
- Score each burst and pick the best frame, flag screenshots separately
