## What it does

This skill organizes the triage of findings from DAST tools such as Burp Suite or OWASP ZAP and SAST engines like Semgrep or SonarQube. It runs a three-step workflow: mapping CWE identifiers to OWASP Top 10 categories, filtering false positives, and calculating final risk scores. Routine informational flags like missing `Content-Security-Policy` headers get dismissed quickly, while injection findings are routed for manual code review.

Risk scoring relies on the OWASP Risk Rating Methodology, which multiplies likelihood by technical and business impact on a 0 to 9 scale. Likelihood considers threat actor skill, exploit ease, and WAF presence. Impact measures confidentiality loss, payment processing exposure, and privacy violations.

The workflow breaks without proper inputs: it strictly requires Python 3.9+ with `requests` and `beautifulsoup4`, actual scanner export files, and manual verification tools like Burp Suite Professional or ZAP.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mukul975/Anthropic-Cybersecurity-Skills --skill performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mukul975/Anthropic-Cybersecurity-Skills --skill performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mukul975/Anthropic-Cybersecurity-Skills --skill performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install mukul975/Anthropic-Cybersecurity-Skills performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mukul975/Anthropic-Cybersecurity-Skills --skill performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/mukul975/Anthropic-Cybersecurity-Skills --path skills/performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mukul975/Anthropic-Cybersecurity-Skills --skill performing-web-application-vulnerability-triage -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- Filter out informational alerts and false positives from scanner reports
- Map discovered CWE entries to OWASP Top 10 categories
- Calculate OWASP vulnerability risk ratings based on likelihood and impact
- Prioritize security remediation tasks before handing them to developers

## Example prompts
- Analyze this Burp Suite report and filter out false positives
- Calculate the OWASP risk rating for the CWE-89 finding from Semgrep
- Categorize our ZAP scan findings according to OWASP Top 10

# Performing Web Application Vulnerability Triage

## Overview

Web application vulnerability triage is the process of reviewing findings from DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing) and SAST (Static Application Security Testing) tools to validate true positives, dismiss false positives, assign risk ratings using the OWASP Risk Rating Methodology, and prioritize remediation. Effective triage reduces alert fatigue and focuses development teams on the vulnerabilities that matter most.

## When to Use

- When conducting security assessments that involve performing web application vulnerability triage
- When following incident response procedures for related security events
- When performing scheduled security testing or auditing activities
- When validating security controls through hands-on testing

## Prerequisites

- DAST scan results (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, Acunetix)
- SAST scan results (Semgrep, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Snyk Code)
- Python 3.9+ with `requests`, `beautifulsoup4`
- Burp Suite Professional or OWASP ZAP for manual validation
- DefectDojo or similar for finding management

## OWASP Risk Rating Methodology

### Risk Calculation
```
Risk = Likelihood x Impact
```

### Likelihood Factors (0-9 scale)
