# pay-with-app

Handles HTTP 402 challenges from OKX merchants on X Layer: checks the wallet, bridges tokens through the Uniswap Trading API when short, signs the payment.

## What it does

The skill walks the whole payment path for OKX's Agent Payments Protocol (APP) on X Layer (chain 196). A payee server returns a 402 with a payment requirement, the skill parses that JSON, confirms the network really is X Layer, and checks whether the wallet holds the requested asset — usually USDT0. If it doesn't, routing and bridging into that token go through the Uniswap Trading API. Then comes the EIP-3009 `TransferWithAuthorization` signature, the `X-PAYMENT` header, and a retry of the original request.

Only the `exact` scheme is supported — Pay Per Use, which OKX sells as Instant Payment. The `upto` and `batch-settlement` schemes, plus escrow, session and Batch Payment, are out of scope here; the skill refuses them outright. A zero amount is refused too: a challenge with `maxAmountRequired` of zero gets rejected as merchant misconfiguration, since OKX's facilitator won't settle it.

Set up before you run it: `PRIVATE_KEY` and `UNISWAP_API_KEY` environment variables (the second only matters when the wallet needs cross-chain funding), `jq` and `cast` from Foundry, Node 18+, and the `viem` package for signing. If `viem` isn't reachable from your working directory, the skill asks permission and installs it into a cache at `~/.cache/uniswap-pay-with-app/signer/`; decline and it stops cleanly before signing. Keep the private key out of the repo — that one is a real way to lose funds.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill pay-with-app -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/pay-with-app/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/pay-with-app/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill pay-with-app -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/pay-with-app/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill pay-with-app -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/pay-with-app/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Uniswap/uniswap-ai pay-with-app
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/pay-with-app/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

```
### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)
**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/pay-with-app/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works
### OpenCode
**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill pay-with-app -a opencode
```
### Claude.ai
## When to use it
- parse a 402 response and see which token the merchant wants
- check the X Layer wallet balance before paying
- bridge into USDT0 when the wallet is short
- sign the EIP-3009 authorization and retry the request
- reject a broken payment scheme before gas is spent
## Example prompts
- the server returned a 402 on X Layer, pay it with pay-with-app
- I'm short on USDT0 for this 402 — fund it and pay
- sign the TransferWithAuthorization and retry the API call
# Pay With APP (OKX Agent Payments Protocol on X Layer)
Pay HTTP 402 challenges issued by OKX's **Agent Payments Protocol (APP)**
running on **X Layer** (chain 196). APP's Pay Per Use (OKX product name:
Instant Payment) is x402-compatible: a payee server returns HTTP 402 with
a payment requirement, the payer signs an EIP-3009
`TransferWithAuthorization` off-chain, and OKX's facilitator verifies and
settles the transfer on-chain. Settlement is zero-gas to the payer on X
Layer.
This skill handles the full happy path:
1. Detect a 402 challenge whose network resolves to X Layer (chain 196)
2. Verify the payer wallet has the requested asset (typically USDT0)
3. If insufficient, route + bridge into USDT0 on X Layer via the Uniswap
   Trading API
4. Sign the EIP-3009 authorization
5. Construct the `X-PAYMENT` payload and retry the original request
OKX is launching APP on **2026-04-29** with Uniswap as the featured DEX
rail on X Layer. This skill version (v1.0.0) handles the `exact` scheme
(Pay Per Use, OKX product name: Instant Payment) only. Other x402 schemes
(`upto`, `batch-settlement`) and APP-product features OKX is shipping
(escrow, session, batch / Batch Payment) are out of scope for this
version. The skill refuses any non-`exact` scheme cleanly.
