# paperkit

## What it does

paperkit covers integration with `PaperMarkupViewController` and the `PaperMarkup` model. It shows how to combine PencilKit strokes with structured items such as text, images, and shapes, then persist the result. The guidance also addresses placing markup tools inside a document editor.

The workflow includes choosing document bounds and a `FeatureSet`, wiring up `PKToolPicker`, and loading or saving markup. It also discusses setting a page or image behind the canvas and creating content through the model. Annotation coordinates must match the background’s dimensions so content returns to the intended location.

PaperKit is available from iOS 26.0. Its API surface can change, so check current Apple documentation before shipping an app.
