This skill drafts a LaTeX paper section by section from an outline. Useful when the plan is ready and you need the actual prose.

## What it does

The skill reads `PAPER_PLAN.md` with its claims-evidence matrix, `NARRATIVE_REPORT.md` and the generated figures in `figures/`, then writes the LaTeX section by section. Bibliography entries come from DBLP and CrossRef, so the reference list does not fill up with invented citations. The default target venue is `ICLR`; `NeurIPS`, `ICML`, `CVPR`, `ACL`, `AAAI`, `ACM` and IEEE journals and conferences are also supported. The venue decides the style file and formatting.

Without `PAPER_PLAN.md` the skill asks you to run `/paper-plan` first or hand it a short outline. There is an opt-in flag, `— style-ref: <source>`, that pulls structural style from another paper: section ordering, theorem density, caption lengths. Sources can be a local TeX directory, a PDF, an arXiv id or an http(s) URL. Overleaf links are rejected, so clone the project with `/overleaf-sync setup <id>` and pass the local path instead. Leave the flag out and nothing changes.

Section review runs through Codex MCP with the `gpt-6-astra` model, which means a configured Codex MCP server has to be in place — otherwise the review step will not start. The style profile stays with the author: reviewers get the artifact and your prompt only, because cross-model review independence breaks if they see your stylistic context.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-write -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/paper-write/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/paper-write/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-write -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/paper-write/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-write -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/paper-write/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep paper-write
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/paper-write/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-write -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --path skills/paper-write
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/paper-write/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-write -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep/tree/HEAD/skills/paper-write/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn a finished outline into a full LaTeX draft
- pull real BibTeX entries instead of hallucinated citations
- match the formatting rules of a specific venue
- review a drafted section with a separate model via Codex MCP
- carry the structural style of another paper onto your own

## Example prompts
- /paper-write ICLR
- /paper-write Introduction
- /paper-write NeurIPS — style-ref: 2501.12345

# Paper Write: Section-by-Section LaTeX Generation

> **Before each reviewer slot**, follow [Selectable Reviewers](../shared-references/reviewer-backends.md):
> resolve invocation → `.aris/reviewer.json` → Claude Code default (Codex MCP)
> with `reviewer_route.py` through the canonical helper resolver, preserving this
> slot's tier, fresh contexts, source/image inputs and deterministic gates.
> Codex examples/pins below apply only to `backend=codex`; other routes use their
> own first-call/reply contract. Save the route and actual returned identity;
> unavailable selections are `REVIEW_UNAVAILABLE`. Classify acceptance from actual
> families/completion/scope. Forward invocation reviewer/model/effort overrides
> to reviewer-bearing children. Generation workers are unchanged.

Draft a LaTeX paper based on: **$ARGUMENTS**

## Constants

- **REVIEWER_MODEL = `gpt-6-astra`** — Model used via Codex MCP for section review. For `backend=codex`, use an OpenAI model.
- **TARGET_VENUE = `ICLR`** — Default venue. Supported: `ICLR`, `NeurIPS`, `ICML`, `CVPR` (also ICCV/ECCV), `ACL` (also EMNLP/NAACL), `AAAI`, `ACM` (ACM MM, SIGIR, KDD, CHI, etc.), `IEEE_JOURNAL` (IEEE Transactions / Letters, e.g., T-PAMI, JSAC, TWC, TCOM, TSP, TIP), `IEEE_CONF` (IEEE conferences, e.g., ICC, GLOBECOM, INFOCOM, ICASSP). Determines style file and formatting.
- **ANONYMOUS = true** — If true, use anonymous author block. Set `false` for camera-ready. Note: most IEEE venues do NOT use anonymous submission — set `false` for IEEE.
