## What it does

The skill walks a paper through to talk artefacts. You get `SLIDE_OUTLINE.md` with one claim per slide, Beamer source, an editable `presentation.pptx`, speaker notes and a full talk script. It reads a paper in `paper/` with a compiled `main.tex` and `main.pdf`, and leaves the paper untouched.

Checks are set with the `— assurance:` argument. The default is `polished`: outline, build, per-page polish, export and report. Claim, citation and anonymity audits only run at `conference-ready`, so a practice run can skip them. Polish works page by page through Codex, each call in a fresh thread so slides do not inherit each other's context.

A few rules are fixed. No new content enters the deck — slide text, numbers, citations and author names come from the paper or from you. Slide order does not change without an explicit flag. If the anonymity pass proposes swapping a placeholder for a real title or count, the run halts for a human. One thing to plan for: at `polished` and above you need a visual reference, either an external talk PDF or the Beamer self-compile.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-talk -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/paper-talk/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/paper-talk/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-talk -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/paper-talk/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-talk -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/paper-talk/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep paper-talk
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/paper-talk/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-talk -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --path skills/paper-talk
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/paper-talk/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep --skill paper-talk -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/wanshuiyin/Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep/tree/HEAD/skills/paper-talk/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a slide outline from a finished paper
- get Beamer and an editable PPTX from one source
- write speaker notes and a talk script
- audit slide claims and citations before an oral talk
- strip names and affiliations for an anonymous submission

## Example prompts
- Make a talk from the paper in `paper/`, spotlight type, 15 minutes
- Run the full talk pipeline with `— assurance: conference-ready` and `— anonymous`
- Build the slides and notes, take the style from `reference.pdf`

# Paper Talk: End-to-End Conference Talk Pipeline

> **Before each reviewer slot**, follow [Selectable Reviewers](../shared-references/reviewer-backends.md):
> resolve invocation → `.aris/reviewer.json` → Claude Code default (Codex MCP)
> with `reviewer_route.py` through the canonical helper resolver, preserving this
> slot's tier, fresh contexts, source/image inputs and deterministic gates.
> Codex examples/pins below apply only to `backend=codex`; other routes use their
> own first-call/reply contract. Save the route and actual returned identity;
> unavailable selections are `REVIEW_UNAVAILABLE`. Classify acceptance from actual
> families/completion/scope. Forward invocation reviewer/model/effort overrides
> to reviewer-bearing children. Generation workers are unchanged.

Workflow: from a completed paper to a conference-ready talk artifact —
slide outline, Beamer source, editable PPTX, speaker notes, full talk
script, polished visuals, and assurance checks.

Pipeline target: **$ARGUMENTS**

## Assurance Ladder

The skill takes an explicit `— assurance:` argument; default is `polished`.

| Level | Phases run | Use when |
|---|---|---|
| `draft` | 0 → 1 → 2 → 5 → 6 | Internal practice talk; quick first-pass deck |
| `polished` (default) | 0 → 1 → 2 → 3 → 5 → 6 | Lab seminar, workshop, default conference talk |
| `conference-ready` (or `submission`) | 0 → 1 → 2 → 3 → **4** → 5 → 6 | Top-venue oral / spotlight where slide claims are scrutinised; or anonymous submission |

Phase 4 (assurance checks) is opt-in via `— assurance: conference-ready`.
