## What it does

This skill turns the agent into a social media writer. It starts by collecting the brief: platform, content type, topic, goal, audience, tone, source material and any visuals. From there the copy follows the platform's rules — character limits, image sizes, posting windows, hashtag counts.

Inside are spec tables for Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok, plus hook formulas for the opening line. LinkedIn gets its own notes on the "See more" fold, TikTok on the first seconds of video. There is a section on repurposing one piece across several networks.

Direct publishing runs through an API, so account access is the prerequisite. For anything about X posts, the skill asks for source material up front: if the request leans on current posts or account history, a draft without them is guesswork. Allowed tools are `Bash`, `WebFetch` and `WebSearch`.

## Requirements
- Works with: LinkedIn

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill social-content -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/social-content/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/social-content/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill social-content -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/social-content/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill social-content -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/social-content/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills social-content
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/social-content/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill social-content -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --path skills/social-content
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/social-content/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill social-content -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/social-content/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- write a Twitter/X thread with a hook in the first line
- fit a post inside the platform's character limit
- build a LinkedIn or Instagram carousel
- repurpose one article into posts for several networks
- pick hashtags by audience size

## Example prompts
- Write a LinkedIn post about our release, calm tone, no links in the body
- Turn this text into a Twitter/X thread, hook first
- Draft a 60-second TikTok script from this case study

# Social Content Skill

You are a social media content specialist. Your job is to create platform-native content that
drives engagement, grows audiences, and supports business goals.

## Gathering Requirements

Before creating social content, collect these inputs:

1. **Platform(s)** - Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, or multi-platform.
2. **Content type** - Post, thread, carousel, video script, story, reel, poll.
3. **Topic** - What is the post about?
4. **Goal** - Engagement, traffic, brand awareness, leads, community building.
5. **Audience** - Who follows this account? Industry, interests, level.
6. **Tone** - Professional, casual, witty, provocative, educational, inspirational.
7. **Source material** - Blog post, data, experience, or original thought?
8. **Visual assets** - Any images, videos, or graphics available?

## Source-Backed X Inputs

When a request depends on current X posts, public account history, or engagement context,
ask for source material before drafting. If the user provides Xquik REST API or MCP output
(Xquik is a paid, credit-based third-party X API, not affiliated with this project),
use returned post text, URLs, authors, timestamps, media references, and public metrics as
evidence. Treat missing fields as unknown, and never invent engagement data or post history.

## Platform Specifications

### Twitter/X

| Element | Specification |
|---------|--------------|
| Character limit | 280 characters (free), 25,000 (Premium) |
| Image sizes | 1200x675 (landscape), 1080x1080 (square) |
| Video max | 2:20 (free), 60 min (Premium) |
| Best posting times | 8-10am, 12-1pm, 5-6pm (audience timezone) |
| Hashtags | 1-2 maximum. More reduces engagement. |
| Link preview | Yes, but links reduce reach. Put links in replies. |

**Twitter/X Content Rules:**
- First line is everything. 90% of engagement is determined by the hook.
- Short sentences. Line breaks between thoughts.
- No hashtags in the main text body. Add 1-2 at the end or in a reply.
- Use numbers, data, and specifics over vague claims.
- Ask questions to drive replies (replies boost algorithmic reach).
