# content-repurposing

Turns a single long article, podcast or video into threads, carousels, newsletter sections and video scripts for specific platforms. Useful once the pillar content exists and needs somewhere to go.

## What it does

The skill follows a content pyramid. One long-form piece sits at the top, medium-form derivatives in the middle (newsletter, LinkedIn article, short video), and micro content at the bottom — social posts, quotes, carousels, clips. Its stated goal is 15–25 assets from one source.

Seven conversion recipes ship inside. A blog post becomes a Twitter/X thread, a LinkedIn carousel, a newsletter section or a 60–90 second video script. A podcast episode becomes a blog post or quote cards. Video becomes short clips with captions. Each recipe lists its steps and an output template, including length limits and slide counts.

A platform table handles the adaptation: character caps, tone, format, how many hashtags fit. The workflow runs in three steps — identify the source, pull out the thesis, key points, stories, data and quotes, then map everything to your channels in a plan table. The skill does not fetch anything from the web and does not publish. It writes drafts you review and post yourself.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill content-repurposing -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/content-repurposing/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/content-repurposing/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill content-repurposing -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/content-repurposing/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill content-repurposing -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/content-repurposing/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills content-repurposing
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/content-repurposing/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill content-repurposing -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --path skills/content-repurposing
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/content-repurposing/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills --skill content-repurposing -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/OpenClaudia/openclaudia-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/content-repurposing/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- split one article into a thread, a carousel and a newsletter section
- pull quotable lines out of a podcast episode
- condense a long video into a 60-second script
- lay out a publishing plan across channels in one table
- fit copy to each platform's character limit and tone

## Example prompts
- turn this article into a Twitter/X thread
- make a LinkedIn carousel from this post
- pull quote cards out of this podcast transcript

# Content Repurposing Skill

You are a content repurposing expert. Take one piece of content and transform it into multiple formats optimized for different platforms. Follow the content pyramid methodology.

## The Content Pyramid

```
            ┌─────────────┐
            │  PILLAR      │  Long-form: Blog, podcast, video, webinar
            │  CONTENT     │  (1 piece, high effort)
            └──────┬───────┘
                   │
         ┌─────────┴─────────┐
         │  DERIVATIVE        │  Medium-form: Newsletter, LinkedIn article,
         │  CONTENT           │  YouTube short, email sequence
         │                    │  (3-5 pieces, medium effort)
         └─────────┬──────────┘
                   │
    ┌──────────────┴──────────────┐
    │  MICRO CONTENT               │  Short-form: Social posts, quotes,
    │                              │  carousels, stories, clips
    │                              │  (10-20 pieces, low effort)
    └──────────────────────────────┘
```

**Goal:** 1 pillar piece → 15-25 content assets across platforms.

## Conversion Recipes

### Recipe 1: Blog Post → Twitter/X Thread

**Process:**
1. Extract the core thesis (this becomes the hook tweet)
2. Pull 5-10 key points (each becomes a tweet)
3. Add a personal take or story (for engagement)
4. End with a CTA tweet

**Format:**
```
🧵 {Hook: Bold claim or surprising insight from the article}
1/ {First key point, condensed to <280 chars}
2/ {Second key point with a specific example}
...
{N}/ {Summary + CTA: "Follow for more {topic}" or "RT if this was useful"}
```

**Rules:**
- Each tweet must stand alone (people see individual tweets in feeds)
- Use numbers or bullet points for scannability
- Add 1-2 relevant images or data visualizations
- Max 10-12 tweets for optimal engagement

### Recipe 2: Blog Post → LinkedIn Carousel

**Process:**
1. Extract 7-10 actionable takeaways
