## What it does

The `figma-create-new-file` skill from the OpenDesign catalogue gives an agent one job: open a fresh, empty Figma Design or FigJam document. Scripted design-system work and workshop prep usually need that document before anything else can happen.

The entry points at the upstream bundle at `https://github.com/figma/skills`. Assets, scripts and references live there, so the upstream package goes into the skills directory of whichever agent you use. After that the agent picks the skill up by name or through a trigger phrase from its frontmatter.

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode are all listed. Figma's MCP server has to be reachable — without it there is nothing to create the file with.
