## What it does

The skill loads into a NetSuite AI Service Connector session and applies to every answer. It lays out a fixed tool order: standard reports first, then saved searches, then record lookups and writes, and custom SuiteQL last. The agent is not supposed to jump straight to a hand-written query — if no report or saved search fits, it asks you before trying one.

Inside you get number formatting tables, URL patterns for transactions and entities, the threshold at which an answer should become a React artifact, and a reference of NetSuite record types. Accounting gets its own section: normal balances, double-entry, closed periods. The hard rules are blunt too. Every SuiteQL query needs `ROWNUM <= 1000`, and a failed `ns_createRecord` must not be retried automatically — check the record in NetSuite first.

It assumes a live account behind the MCP connector, so without that connection there is nothing for it to steer. The multi-subsidiary and currency parts lean on fields like `foreignamount` and `exchangerate`; in a single-currency account those rules rarely come up.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add oracle/netsuite-suitecloud-sdk --skill netsuite-ai-connector-instructions -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/netsuite-ai-connector-instructions/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/netsuite-ai-connector-instructions/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add oracle/netsuite-suitecloud-sdk --skill netsuite-ai-connector-instructions -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/netsuite-ai-connector-instructions/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add oracle/netsuite-suitecloud-sdk --skill netsuite-ai-connector-instructions -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/netsuite-ai-connector-instructions/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install oracle/netsuite-suitecloud-sdk netsuite-ai-connector-instructions
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/netsuite-ai-connector-instructions/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add oracle/netsuite-suitecloud-sdk --skill netsuite-ai-connector-instructions -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/oracle/netsuite-suitecloud-sdk --path packages/agent-skills/netsuite-ai-connector-instructions
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/netsuite-ai-connector-instructions/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add oracle/netsuite-suitecloud-sdk --skill netsuite-ai-connector-instructions -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- pick a standard report instead of a hand-written query
- build a dashboard from several metrics
- show amounts as millions and percentages instead of raw numbers
- turn invoice and sales order IDs into clickable links
- avoid breaking records when the agent creates one

## Example prompts
- Show revenue by subsidiary for the quarter
- Find all unpaid invoices for this customer and link them
- Create an invoice from this sales order
