# context7

Looks up library references and API examples through the Context7 REST API when its MCP server is not configured. Use it for framework-specific questions and version behaviour.

## What it does

The skill identifies a library, selects a relevant ID, then requests material for a focused subject. It handles questions about API methods, imports, routing, hooks, ORM queries, and other library features.

Its workflow uses `context7.sh`: it searches for a library first, then requests documentation with a topic and either `code` or `info` mode. When the Context7 MCP server is unavailable, the script calls the REST API directly.

It requires `curl` 7.55 or later plus `jq`. Check those dependencies before installation. `CONTEXT7_API_KEY` is optional and raises request limits.
