## What it does

The skill guides an agent through Aura Graph Analytics GDS Sessions. It covers creating `GdsSessions` with `AuraAPICredentials.from_env()`, estimating memory via `sessions.estimate(...)`, opening a session and projecting a graph remotely — `gds.graph.project.cypher`, `gds.graph.project.remote`, `gds.graph.project.native`, `gds.graph.construct`. Async compute through `gds.jobs` and write-back to the database get their own sections.

Inside you get a deployment decision table, the client 2.0–2.2 changelog and a rename map from 1.x. Requirements: Python >= 3.10, the `neo4j` driver 5.26–7.0, pandas 2–3, pyarrow 21–25 and numpy <3. Credentials come from environment variables — `AURA_CLIENT_ID`, `AURA_CLIENT_SECRET`, `AURA_PROJECT_ID`. API keys are created in the Aura Console.

Sessions bill per minute, so you close them with `gds.delete()` or `sessions.delete(session_name=...)`. Default idle TTL is 1h, with a hard 7-day lifetime cap. If you run Aura Pro with the embedded GDS plugin, or self-managed Neo4j with that plugin, this skill is the wrong pick — use `neo4j-gds-skill`. Cypher authoring is out of scope too.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add neo4j-contrib/neo4j-skills --skill neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add neo4j-contrib/neo4j-skills --skill neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add neo4j-contrib/neo4j-skills --skill neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install neo4j-contrib/neo4j-skills neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add neo4j-contrib/neo4j-skills --skill neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/neo4j-contrib/neo4j-skills --path neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add neo4j-contrib/neo4j-skills --skill neo4j-aura-graph-analytics-skill -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- project a graph from a connected AuraDB into an AGA session
- estimate memory for a specific set of algorithms before launching
- run PageRank or Louvain on an ephemeral session and write results back
- port code from the graphdatascience 1.x client to 2.0
- run graph algorithms on Pandas or Spark data with no Neo4j instance

## Example prompts
- Create a GDS session in Aura Graph Analytics and project my AuraDB graph with gds.graph.project.cypher
- Estimate memory for wcc, louvain and fast_rp on 1 000 000 nodes and 5 000 000 relationships
- Run PageRank asynchronously through gds.jobs and write the scores back to the database
