## What it does

The `nanobanana-ppt` skill reads a document, analyses it, and produces a structured presentation with styled images. Image generation runs through the NanoBanana stack, so slides come out designed rather than plain text.

The catalogue entry exists so the agent discovers the skill while planning. The full workflow — original assets, scripts and references — lives in the upstream bundle `op7418/NanoBanana-PPT-Skills`, which you install into your active agent's skills directory. Once installed, invoke the skill by name (`nanobanana-ppt`) or with a trigger phrase such as "ai ppt" or "document to ppt".

Worth it if decks are a recurring job and you are fine pulling the upstream separately. The catalogue entry on its own will not build a deck.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nexu-io/open-design --skill nanobanana-ppt -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/nanobanana-ppt/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/nanobanana-ppt/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nexu-io/open-design --skill nanobanana-ppt -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/nanobanana-ppt/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nexu-io/open-design --skill nanobanana-ppt -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/nanobanana-ppt/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install nexu-io/open-design nanobanana-ppt
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/nanobanana-ppt/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nexu-io/open-design --skill nanobanana-ppt -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/nexu-io/open-design --path skills/nanobanana-ppt
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/nanobanana-ppt/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add nexu-io/open-design --skill nanobanana-ppt -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/nexu-io/open-design/tree/HEAD/skills/nanobanana-ppt/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- turn an existing document into a slide deck
- get slides with styled images instead of plain text
- split a long document across slides
- generate deck imagery in the same pass as the layout

## Example prompts
- Build a deck from `report.docx` with nanobanana-ppt
- Turn this document into slides with styled images
- Parse `notes.md` and lay out the slides in nanobanana-ppt

## How to use

This catalogue entry advertises the skill in OpenDesign so the agent
discovers it during planning. To run the full upstream workflow with
its original assets, scripts, and references, install the upstream
bundle into your active agent's skills directory:

```bash
# Inspect the upstream README for exact paths
open https://github.com/op7418/NanoBanana-PPT-Skills
```

Then ask the agent to invoke this skill by name (`nanobanana-ppt`) or with
one of the trigger phrases listed in this skill's frontmatter.
