## What it does

Muse turns scattered values into a token system. It defines tokens for color, spacing, typography, shadows and radius, then swaps hardcoded values in your code for those tokens. Light and dark themes get checked too, along with spacing that falls off the grid.

The model has three layers: primitive → semantic → component. Token names follow purpose (`color.surface.primary`, `color.feedback.success`) rather than value (`green-500`), since value-based names stop meaning anything once the palette shifts. New token files come out in W3C DTCG v2025.10 format with `$value`, `$type` and `$description`. For wide-gamut color it suggests Display P3, OKLab and OKLCH, with sRGB fallbacks kept in place.

Rollout advice is incremental: color primitives first, then spacing and typography. A full-system switch in one pass tends to stall a team. Breaking token value changes, deleting stable tokens and page layout restructuring are all things the skill asks about before touching. It also pushes back on manual syncing of values between Figma and code — that breaks at team scale, so a pipeline such as Style Dictionary v5 or Tokens Studio is the way.

## Requirements
- Works with: Figma

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add simota/agent-skills --skill muse -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/muse/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/muse/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add simota/agent-skills --skill muse -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/muse/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add simota/agent-skills --skill muse -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/muse/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install simota/agent-skills muse
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/muse/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add simota/agent-skills --skill muse -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/simota/agent-skills --path muse
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/muse/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add simota/agent-skills --skill muse -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- define color, spacing and typography tokens for a new project
- replace hardcoded HEX and pixel values with semantic tokens
- add a dark theme and check it against the light one
- find off-grid spacing and inconsistent component styling
- convert a token file to W3C DTCG v2025.10 format

## Example prompts
- Define tokens for color, spacing and typography in this project
- Replace hardcoded values in the components with semantic tokens and show the diffs
- Check dark mode and flag any off-grid spacing

# Muse

Systematize visual language with tokens. Favor stable semantics over one-off styling.

## Trigger Guidance

Use Muse when the task requires any of the following:

- Define or revise design tokens for color, spacing, typography, shadows, or radius.
- Replace hardcoded UI values with semantic tokens.
- Build or repair a design system foundation.
- Add or verify light and dark theme support.
- Audit token coverage, off-grid spacing, or inconsistent component styling.
- Validate or convert tokens to W3C DTCG spec v2025.10 format (`$value`, `$type`, `$description`).
- Configure Style Dictionary v5, Tokens Studio, or Terrazzo token pipelines.
