# muapi-interior-design

Generates and redesigns interiors: a room concept from text or a rework of an existing photo. Useful when you need a render without opening a 3D editor.

## What it does

The skill turns a text description of a room into an image. Only one input is required, `room_type` ("modern living room", "scandinavian kitchen"). The rest are optional: `design_style` (defaults to modern minimalist), `color_palette` (neutral tones with wood accents), `specific_elements` and `room_photo`.

The flow is short. If a room photo is passed in, the agent calls `muapi image edit` with `flux-kontext-pro-i2i` and asks it to keep the layout and window placement while replacing furniture and finishes. Without a photo it runs `muapi image generate` on `nano-banana-pro`. A second angle comes from `bytedance-seedream-v4.5`. After that the skill offers to extend the space with `ai-image-extension` or build a camera walkthrough on `kling-v3.0-pro-image-to-video`.

You need a key before the first run: if `MUAPI_API_KEY` is unset, start with `muapi auth configure`. For model IDs without a CLI alias the skill falls back to the raw endpoint via `curl` and polls with `muapi predict wait <request_id>`. So without a key and reachable `api.muapi.ai` the skill produces nothing — worth checking before you install it.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill muapi-interior-design -a claude-code
```
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill interior-design -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/interior-design/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/interior-design/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill interior-design -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/interior-design/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill interior-design -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/interior-design/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills interior-design
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/interior-design/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill interior-design -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --path library/visual/interior-design
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/interior-design/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill interior-design -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills/tree/HEAD/library/visual/interior-design/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- redesign a room from a photo of it
- turn a text brief into a room concept
- match a style and palette to a specific room
- show the same room from another angle
- render a walkthrough video of the finished design

## Example prompts
- Visualize a modern living room in japandi style, palette sage green and brass
- Redesign this room from the photo: keep the layout and windows, change furniture and finishes
- Add a second angle — closeup on textures and lighting

# Interior Design

**Create professional interior design visualizations — redesign existing rooms, generate new room concepts, or visualize specific furniture styles in a space.**

## Inputs

| Name | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|:---|:---|:---|:---|:---|
| `room_type` | text | yes | — | The type of room (e.g. "modern living room", "scandinavian kitchen", "luxury master bedroom", "minimalist home office"). |
| `design_style` | text | no | modern minimalist | The aesthetic direction (e.g. "japandi", "industrial loft", "boho chic", "mid-century modern", "art deco"). |
| `color_palette` | text | no | neutral tones with wood accents | Preferred colors and materials (e.g. "sage green and brass", "monochrome black and white", "warm terracotta"). |
| `specific_elements` | text | no | — | Particular items to include (e.g. "large floor-to-ceiling windows", "velvet green sofa", "statement pendant light"). |
| `room_photo` | image_url | no | — | Optional photo of an existing room to redesign or use as layout reference. |

## Steps

### Phase A — Room Concept / Redesign

Submit the plan with ONE or TWO steps:

1. **Main Visualization** — If `{{room_photo}}` is provided, use `muapi image edit` (model=`flux-kontext-pro-i2i`); otherwise use `muapi image generate` (model=`nano-banana-pro`):
   - Prompt: `Professional interior design visualization of a {{room_type}}. Style: {{design_style}}. Color palette: {{color_palette}}. {{specific_elements}}. Cinematic lighting, architectural photography style, wide angle lens, 8k resolution, photorealistic textures. High-end interior design magazine quality.`
   - If `{{room_photo}}` is used, add: `Maintain the structural layout and window placement of the reference room. Completely transform the furniture, decor, and wall finishes to match the new style.`
   - Aspect ratio: 16:9 (standard for room views)

2. **Alternative Angle (Optional)** — `muapi image generate` (model=`bytedance-seedream-v4.5`):
