Turns a character portrait into a cinematic time-freeze video clip. The subject snaps their fingers, walks past motionless crowds, then restarts reality.

## What it does

The skill builds a fifteen-second scene anchored by a single character portrait. Action starts inside a loud crowd right before the subject snaps their fingers. Motion freezes instantly. Suspended drinks and confetti hang midair while the character walks unbothered through the room. A second snap sets everything back into motion.

Under the hood, the skill calls `muapi video from-image` using the `seedance-v2.0-i2v` model at 720p resolution. Audio generation remains enabled on purpose: the sudden drop from ambient noise to dead silence sells the entire illusion. Without `MUAPI_API_KEY` set up in the environment or configured via `muapi auth configure`, the command fails immediately.

Keep the character's facial features visible on the input portrait to maintain visual consistency. If the default engine blocks generation over strict likeness checks, switch to the `seedance-2-image-to-video-fast` model.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill muapi-freeze-effect-video -a claude-code
```
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill freeze-effect-video -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/freeze-effect-video/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/freeze-effect-video/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill freeze-effect-video -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/freeze-effect-video/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill freeze-effect-video -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/freeze-effect-video/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills freeze-effect-video
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/freeze-effect-video/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill freeze-effect-video -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --path library/motion/freeze-effect-video
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/freeze-effect-video/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add SamurAIGPT/Generative-Media-Skills --skill freeze-effect-video -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- Produce a cinematic time-stop video from a character portrait
- Keep character facial features consistent across camera angles
- Build sudden sound transitions between crowd noise and silence
- Export 9:16 vertical clips sized for mobile feeds

## Example prompts
- Create a freeze effect video using `character.jpg`, scene set in a crowded sports bar
- Generate a time-stop video from `portrait.png` in 9:16 aspect ratio with a 10-second duration
- Run muapi freeze effect with `hero.jpg`, stadium crowd scene, and floating popcorn

# Freeze Effect Video

**Generate a cinematic "freeze effect" video where time stops mid-scene, the subject walks through the frozen world, then time resumes with a snap.**

## Inputs

| Name | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|:---|:---|:---|:---|:---|
| `photo` | image_url | yes | — | Reference photo of the main character (face/body) whose appearance must remain consistent across all shots. |
| `scene` | text | no | a packed, dimly lit sports bar with neon accents, blurred TVs showing a championship celebration | The setting where time will freeze (e.g. "a busy nightclub", "a wedding reception", "a stadium crowd"). |
| `freeze_moment` | text | no | golden arcs of beer suspended midair, popcorn floating motionless, people frozen mid-cheer | The signature frozen visual — what hangs in the air when time stops. |
| `closing_line` | text | no | perfect | A short word/phrase the character whispers before resuming time. |
| `aspect_ratio` | text | no | 16:9 | Output aspect ratio — "16:9" for cinematic, "9:16" for vertical/social. |
| `duration` | text | no | 15 | Target duration in seconds (10 or 15 recommended). |

## Steps

### Phase A — Generate the Freeze Effect Video

Submit the plan with ONE step:

1. **Freeze effect video** — `muapi video from-image` (model=`seedance-v2.0-i2v`, quality=`high`, generate_audio=`true`):
   - Reference image: `{{photo}}`
   - Aspect ratio: `{{aspect_ratio}}`
   - Duration: `{{duration}}`
   - Resolution: `720p`
   - Prompt:
     ```
     Ultra-realistic, shot on Arri Alexa Mini, 35mm lens, {{scene}}, volumetric haze, dynamic hard shadows, shallow depth of field.
     Main Character:
     The person from @image1. Facial features and body proportions remain consistent across all shots.
     [0:00–0:03]
     {{scene}}. Time flows normally.
     Steadicam frontal medium shot tracking the person walking confidently through the crowd.
     The crowd erupts in euphoria around them.
     As the person walks, they raise their right hand and snap.
     [0:03–0:06]
